I think I am going to purchase this DiMaggio but just want to make sure that it is authentic. Any help?

I am not an expert on Dimaggio's signature but I do have several PSA/DNA certified photos and balls. With that said from my knowledge it looks okay minus the open O in his first name. For the majority he always closes it and anything I have that is PSA or JSA authenticated shows the O being closed. I have seen on rare instances them passing the open O but not often. Again I could be wrong but I do have several Dimaggio autos and the O is closed. I would take a look closely to pen pressure and indications of the ink stopping midway through the signature. That's a dead giveaway of a fake. If this photo hasn't been authenticated by PSA or JSA I wouldn't risk it.. Just my thoughts but its to risky these days to waste money. Good Luck!

Papers do not equate to authenticity.

+1

In my short time here, one of the most important lessons I've learned is exactly what you just stated Eric. Papers alone definitely does NOT make them Legit !!!

The O in Joe looks off to me along with the upstroke of the line above the top of the D.  I also have issues with the a in DiMaggio.  Just my thoughts.

not the best example but likely authentic.  Here is another one, rushed example showing the open "o" and a similar "a".

As long as it isn't a reprint, that DiMaggio is authentic.

good point Christopher, it could be a reprint.  but if it is, they picked a crappy example to reprint!

I think this is good.
