David Gilmour: Does anyone else's new CD look like this? Strange appearance.

This is a very strange appearance. It looks just like this in hand. Uniform surface and reflections for both.

Click to enlarge. I don't know what kind of pen produces this look.

Felt tip, including sharpies?

Is the surface very glossy? Looks like poor adhesion and pooling of the ink. Presumably/hopefully it dried.

It gives the feeling of not being real :(

It looks as though something may have pressed against the signatures before the ink was dry.

I thought of that but the dots present don't seem affected and there is no sign of smudging etc.

Look at the vertical(s) in the "D" enlarged - what is that and how does it happen?

Take one of those super-glossy coated baseball cards and write on it with a Sharpie. You'll see all sorts of strange things.

Yes I have had super glossy items signed with Sharpie - this appears different. I also wonder if Sharpie why are there no others I can find with this very strange appearance.

Happens with certain finishes on sports cards and, sometimes, even photos.

crrect its the finish on the cd

I just saw 2 examples, horrid, where people are removing Polly's signature. Awful results.

Uneven adhesion / slight pooling due to high gloss surface. Probably not the best pen choice.
