eBay Seller lburnette Offers Doors “Signed” Debut LP From Antiquities With Banned Frangipani COA

This Doors “signed” debut LP is currently for sale from eBay seller lburnette at a BIN price of $9,000. It includes COAs from Antiquities of California and Donald Frangipani, whose name appears on eBay’s list of banned COAs. In my opinion, this is not authentic and is typical of what you see from Antiquities.

There are currently no known Morrison-signed copies of the debut LP.

I know a guy who..like me...favorite band is The Doors. His wife bought him the 1st album, signed, from Antiquities. And...it looks awful. I didn't have the heart to tell him. I just kind of said.."what if it ends up being fake?"

That’s a tough situation. Sometimes that’s the best thing to do.

But what if she decided to buy them the second album for thousands from Antiquities for a wedding anniversary or holiday?

Get him a high quality reprint (if any) of a signed Doors piece to hang up.

This is my album.  While I respect your right to comment, you should have contacted me first before posting something so controversial.  The posting remains until Ebay takes it down.  I spoke with them last night.  Who are you that it gives you the right to slander my reputation?  I bought this in good faith years ago.

What did I post that you feel isn’t true?

I contacted Ebay last night.  They have no problem with me listing this.  You have attacked me personally by indicating that it is fake.  You tagged me as a seller and this affects my 20 year reputation.  You are entitled to your beliefs, and I am entitled to mine.  But to slander me without giving me an email to respond?  Can you say sour grapes?

So much for guidance for new sellers.  Attack instead of communicating.

No one contacted you about this yesterday?

They did not.  I awoke to hate mail, and then another member sent me a link to this article.  It would have been nice if you had taken a few minutes to write to me instead of posting this article, which affects my reputation as a seller. I would have removed it immediately pending further examination. This was my first and last listing of this kind.  PLEASE remove the article and just consider me an idiot in the world of autographed things.  It was never intentional.

The LP is fake, to be clear. None exist. Ballroom is a good guy, very respected here and with eagle eyes and an elephants memory.

BallroomDays isn't slandering you. He's passionate about helping collectors avoid buying forgeries.

He has tagged me as a seller.  That is unacceptable when the link alone would have sufficed.
