Greg,
You are mistaken. All will not be OK. Roger Epperson texted me that he will no longer participate in this site thanks to the way you've been acting. Not the topics, they were fine. Roger was a hugely important source of expertise on this site and now he's gone.
You are having fun here, but for others, this is their profession and livelihood. They deal with forgeries, forgers and fraudsters trying to destroy them every day of the week. So for you it might be fun to "good naturedly" demean them while you down a few bottles of wine, but for them it is more stress and grief.
As for the 1,000 Gleasons: You're right, entertainment secretarials are a big problem and need to be focused on. But these are not things to joke about or be anything but clear about. I've encouraged you to keep on track finding these things, but always be clear and don't make up stories around them. 99% of the people don't realize it, and when they do find out, many get mad and lose respect for you.
And please keep this in mind. The best way to change things is to work with people. JSA and PSA/DNA are good, honest organizations--the best general authenticators we have. Do they get it wrong sometimes? Absolutely. But are they getting it wrong on purpose? Absolutely not.
We have the opportunity here to make autographs a much safer hobby. Don't mess it up because it's fun to joke with people.

Yeah, I must admit that I don't understand many of the comments about the industry or people in the industry although I fate gave me an exposure to the industry most collectors don't have.
"Do they get it wrong sometimes? Absolutely. But are they getting it wrong on purpose? Absolutely not"
Getting things wrong not on purpose is not a free ride. In fact, being wrong could be considered negligence by law under certain circumstances -
Greg,
Thank you. You just convinced a top rock authenticator who was giving hundreds of free opinions a month on this site to say..."Why bother?"
Greg, I have benefited on a number of occasions from your comments and studies - especially the Gleason - and i have also been lucky enuff to have benefited from the knowledge and experience of Roger.
I hope that Roger reconsiders his decision and that you (Greg) remember that the pen can sometimes be sharper than the sword - even if it is not meant to be?????
I believe that both of you have the ability to impart their experience to allow 'us novices' to not be ripped off by the hungry hordes
UMMMMM
I posted my reply three hours ago and i don't know WHY but NO replies??!!
I hope that Roger (after being an authenticator for years and having to put up with lotsa poo from people apart from Greg) has reconsidered and that Greg has reconsidered his {(supposed/alledged inquisatorial/subtle (??!!) posts} that all has been considered and resolved to the benefit of the greater good.
Hey I live in australia and wouldn't even know what Gregs real name is so put us all out of our misery and let us know.
If there are still no further posts then maybe Irene has been bigger than the news has reported
Glad to know that John and family are fine
Tony:
Some people prefer to use screen names for perfectly innocent reasons. It's common practice on most Internet chat boards. I can be simply that some people consider their hobby activities private and don't want co-workers or others being able to easily find every hobby chat board posting. Others may want to post about their hobby but not let every one of their customers or clients to be able to look into their private hobby. I've made no secret my name is Steve Zarelli, but I post here and elsewhere under the screen name Mr Zipper.
What is shady is people pretending to be who they are NOT or posting under numerous screen names pretending to be more than one person (also known as shills). There is a huge distinction between wishing to remain somewhat anonymous, and those who use fake names for misinformation and shilling.
Let me add that I do not believe Greg is guilty of the latter. If I am correct, he is someone who has modified his real name slightly for message board use.
