Found this on eBay and thinking of bidding on it, but wanted opinions on it before I did so. It isn't in the best condition however.

I believe this is likely genuine.

Thank you for you input! I thought it looked right, but just wanted to double check.

Looks right to me, too.

So many secretary signatures out there - but this one appears correct.

Good to hear! Definitely gonna be bidding on it then, the secretary signatures is what had me worried, since he had such a long running career.

I would pass on grounds of condition. Contrast is light as well. A rip right near "Frank"...others too.

Yeah, it's not in the greatest shape. I am still gonna consider bidding on it as long as it doesn't get too pricey since the condition isn't great.

Low price fades, condition lasts forever. What looks like emulsion loss right before "Frank" is very distracting. This should be discounted IMO. I'd avoid.

The secretarials with Sinatra are definitely something to always be aware of.  In this case, no worries.  Looks fine.

The question here is how does the condition affect your decision.  With truly vintage material, sometimes scarcity trumps condition IMHO.

Condition is a major factor when it comes to easily available signatures. Modern show signatures with condition issues are typically worthless. Why pull a dented can when there are 50 perfect cans next to it on the shelf?

However, when it comes to scarcer and more valuable vintage items, small condition issues don't weigh as heavily against. If the price is right and the item generally presents well, I can overlook small creases or tears.

What does the entire item look like?

The entire item is a bit rough but the seller does make note of that.

This is FATAL. No contrast as noted. Ink faded. Condition overtakes the incomplete signature. Buy ink, not indentations. I would never be seen selling this damaged item!
