I was wondering if we could compile a comprehensive thread of real Heath Ledger signatures. I know he's real tough because his signature had variations towards the end of his life. Please post any in person or confirmed authentic examples you've got, and share any traits we should be looking for when authenticating.

I'm afraid I have nothing to offer but my request. I can copy and paste stuff from AW or RR, but that'd be cheating!

What do you guys think about these?

Hello,

I dont think the bottom 4 are any good. Id wait for more opinions, but they dont look authentic to me.

Exactly what I thought! At first they didn't sit right with me, but then I studied them a bit closer and then they REALLY didn't sit right with me. They all just look too forced and there appears to be hesitation marks with no real flow or direction. Do you think the first may be authentic? It flows quite nicely and matches a few other in-person signatures, but I can't get over how strange that "g" looks...

I saw this from theRPF, some one sold it $850

Another one up for debate. Thoughts?

Junk. First off it's on a joker photo. Second, on authentic examples, after Heath makes the "A" and crosses over to continue the signature, he always crosses below the initial line and not above it. This forger didn't even bother to do their homework on an authentic example.

^ no good. The only authentic ones available on a joker photo came from autographworld.com and the one I have.

Hi Bryce,

You are largely correct. I dont know Heaths signatures really at all, but i do know that there were some that were signed on set, etc. They are few and far between, but they are out there on Joker photos. Autoworld has sold a few, but every once in a while someone will sell an authentic one they got IP, either through ebay or through an auction house.

"but i do know that there were some that were signed on set"

How do u know? Did you see him sign them? I'm not saying your wrong by any means, but the only ones I trust are from autographworld.com

"every once in a while someone will sell an authentic one they got IP, either through ebay or through an auction house."

I have only seen the ones from autographworld.com, the one I won from eBay with JSA LOA and a fan made poster with JSA LOA (that one came with a lot of pics of him getting that poster signed but can't find them anywhere online).

It was easy to detect the fake ones from the legit ones back in '08 cause there were so many signed on joker photos that came out way after his death.

Just to give you an idea the lenghts forgers will go to with Heath Ledger, the one on the left is from a known forger on ebay, the one on the right is PSA/DNA. At first glance they both look like a pretty good match. The "J"'s are formed the same way. Rolling into the "O" in the same fashion. The strokes look to all go in the right direction. But one is an apparent fake and the other apparently is real.

I think the bottom line with Ledger, unless you met him or having a photo of him signing the item, don't bother buying. It is SO easy to forge that you can fool anyone.

I'm confused... Heath doesn't have a "J", or an "O", in his name.
