With the long fulfillment wait times for most signed preorders (12+ weeks), I was just curious how many different preorders everyone was still waiting for.

For me it's 7 or 8 I think:

Justin Bieber "Yummy" Single (est. 18 days late)

Halsey/Ashley "Manic" (est. 61 days late)

Halsey "Manic" (missed this one, just waiting for them to be fulfilled so I can buy from a reseller)

Demi Lovato Single (est. 28-31 days away)

Lady Gaga Chromatica (est. 213 days away)

Bieber/Grande Single (est. 66 days away)

Katy Perry Single (est. 60 days away)

Megan Thee Stallion (est. 72 days away)

Worth discussing a few things about expectations I suppose. Mine are usually moderate by default, as most of the time the items are fairly low priced and more often than not represent a pretty fantastic opportunity if authentic, which they tend to be more often than not. However, the lists we're looking at are bit more heavily tilted toward bigger names and bigger labels, and there are a greater combination of variables that tend to work against getting authentic items and in a timely manner. Even the biggest artists and biggest labels tend to try to do merch on the cheap, which leads to poorer quality items, production delays, etc. It seems like a lot of these labels and management teams may not be entirely upfront with the artists on how many signed items they're committing (sentencing?) them to, which appears to be the case with Lady Gaga and sounds like it may have been the case with Lana a few years back. I'd further guess that some of these management teams make extra efforts not to take these artists out of their comfort zones or irritate them by forcing to sign insane thousands of preordered items, figuring this such promise is second rate and causal fans won't know the difference anyway (or will end up as minority voices calling them out). UMG seems to be a prime offender here. While part of that is certainly related to the size of the company and their artists roster, there's a nearly indisputable contempt for fans I've seen and felt from them over the years and some patterns of apparently indifferent and even reckless behavior based on their foothold in the business. They're atrocious with merch overall, and it isn't just limited to signed items.

Covid-19 has of course been a contributor to the delays, with international shipments been the most profoundly delayed (weeks or months in some instances).

The real question is will any of these will be real?

Some will be real some will not.... same as ever!

Good topic - great reference points

Yeah I had one pre-order for Machine Gun Kelly take 8 months to arrive and a dozen different emails asking what was happening with the order. It’s honestly completely all over the place. I preordered a signed copy of Jim Carrey’s book in February 2020, which should’ve arrived May 11, as I didn’t know if I could attend one of his scheduled book signings. It’s now just getting shipped out after I checked the status with a 3-5 day timetable. It seems like all entertainment pre-orders are completely topsy turvy.

I might be dead before my Halsey ever arrives. Waiting for Sam Smith and Nick Mason also. Im sure my sketchy Lady Gaga will arrive soon. Hell of a way for these people to treat their fans ( though I realize its not always thier fault though autopens are).

If the Corgan Cotillions box set counts as a "pre-order" then I am damn happy I got mine. It is hand-signed and genuine. XXX/1000. None of this nonsense.
