All the Alicia Keys books seemed to be legit except for what Premiere had.  And supposedly her reps were insisting to Premiere that they were legit.  I don't thing she'd be the type to do it either.  So someone on her team probably authorized it.  So just because Hetfield might not be the type to do it wouldn't make it worthy of verification/scrutiny when they start showing up.

I treat anything from Premiere like that old reporter saying. "If your mom says she's loves you-check on it."

Whether her reps were insisting they were real or not they are a company that deals in autographs and should be able to spot an obvious auto pen that the rest of us easily did. And the fact that they put their COA in it pretty much makes all of them suspect and worthless in my opinion.

Yep! COA means zilch.  And I don't think I've gotten a single book from Premiere listing the title or author.  So a crook could just buy the cheapest clearance items for $5 each + shipping from Premiere, snatch the COA, put it in another book with a bogus signature and sell it as certed by a supposedly reputable reatailer. I think a legit COA  should at least list the author/artist and hopefully a title.  A generic COA is pretty much no COA in my humble opinion.

I can only speak from my experience and have never had any authenticity issues.  Have been a customer well over a decade and the only hiccup was during covid when they had logistics issues(which is obviously understandable). I know their Brian Wilson book was autopen but everyone who ordered that got a refund and the same with the Dylan book. I cannot speak on the Alicia Keyes book as I didn't order that.  I didn't order the Hetfield book only because I ordered several from the groups store and have no interest in a signed bookplate(which I suspect will be the case with these). Saying that,  I would have zero concerns about these being legit, Premiere is one of my favorite places to buy from but that's just me

I was also a happy customer with them for years and even though most were fine, it's the fact that they put their COA in both the Brian Wilson and Alicia Keys books that make it hard for me to have zero concerns about authenticity. the whole purpose of the COA is to let us know they have people who know what they are doing inspecting these and guaranteeing them to be authentic and when they keep showing up with autopens it kind of makes that piece of paper worthless in my opinion. but that being said I still had to take a chance with James Hetfield and hope for the best

59 left.. will be gone soon for people like me who are hesitating

Aaaaand gone.

Got it! One more off my bucket list.

It seems the "official" super duper limited edition dee-lux slipcase book might have taken a teeny bit of a nose dive in resale prices after the Premiere offering, although today's sale may just be an anomaly.

Will Premiere do what Premiere does best and pull shenanigans? Will James sign another 2-5K books to help satiate demand? Tune in, this October, to find out...

I actually think there are bunch of sellers who are listing the new preorder from today on Ebay and mislabelling it as limited to 1500. Possibly from just grabbing other sold item's titles. But all of the $300-$400 ones are from today and the descriptions don't mention the slipcover which was how the Metallica site one was advertised (1500 of those and 250 of the deluxe Box).

Gotcha. I jumped on 130point.com earlier and most sales over the past few months bounced between $650-$800 with 1 selling for $1,150 and another selling for the low, low price of $2,000, all listed as 1 of 1500. The $335 sale today might be mislabeled, dunno.

Based on when this was released compared to inventory numbers posted before selling out, it may have actually been 1500 from the start. Im sure most people on ebay used the 1500 from other listings and have no clue but it may actually be accurate as of now. Unless more are released later. Im not sure of this myself. I saw this 45 minutes after it was available but 1500 does seem probable
