Is there anything specific that concerns you about the Celebrity Authentics autographs?

Nope.  Although I haven't really throughly scoured their inventory in a while.

Thanks Rich.

It's the massive Gridiron stigma that I have the biggest issue with.

In the other thread, it's outlined in detail that they originally obtained private signings and then supplimented that with forgeries. The concern is that they could perhaps be listing authentic ones and then sending forgeries because they only use stock images, and because that is what they are doing with Gridiron.

Like I said, I've bought items from them before and I'm happy with them. However, I will likely not purchase again because the Gridiron issue bothers me very much. If you read through that thread you'll see that several people sent back fake Gridiron items and then they didn't refund them.

I believe you're taking a big leap of faith if you consider the evidence and then conclude that they must only be conducting signing initially and then selling forgeries of football autographs, and not engaging in those practices with celebrity autographs. Like I said, the ones I got seem okay, but I'm not investing anymore cash into a brand name with that kind of controversey surrounding it.

Got it.  Thanks JXE.

I forgot to add: I have seen a couple of instances where a "limited" item that has long sold out after a private signing has become newly available, with no new signing in between.

One example is a Mickey Rourke 16x20 Wrestler photo that was limited to 50. I own one from the time when they did a signing with him. It sold out years ago, but a few months ago I saw it for sale again either on their ebay account or the website. That scares me, because that follows the pattern of Gridiron.

Mike, your question about specific concerns about the stock images of the autographs-- I have not seen a lot of customers post images of autographs they've received. Who knows what's out there, and people likely aren't posting asking for opinions because they have no reason to doubt authenticity (unless they know about the Gridiron problem).

I'll gladly post the items I got from them, which I'm very confident in. I ctually started a thread a while back asking for assistance in exploring what's been sent out on the celebrity side in light of what's going on with Gridiron, but I've received no replies to that thread. I'd like to know more, especially if someone from the company would clarify what's going on over there.

The absurd length of time they've peddled this Bale/Craig private signing fairy tale isn't doing them any favors either.  How many non-refundable payments have they received over the past half decade for something that still hasn't happened and, I believe, likely won't?

I agree.  They should at least give customers the option of cancelling for a refund of their deposit after so much time has passed.

Thanks guys for your opinion

Mark

I lost interest in this company a long time ago.  They have some nice looking products, but their prices aren't particularly great.  They've been advertising signings for years that have yet to happen (I believe Bale and Craig have been advertised since at least 2008).  And, in my opinion, their affiliation with the clearly dirty Gridiron Authentics greatly weakens the reputation and relibility of Celebrity Authentics.  I'm actually quite surprised that so many people continue to sing their praises.

JXE, is it possible that they held over a few Mickey Rourke items in order to have them handy in the event that they needed to fulfill exchanges and made them available at a later date?  I know that many companies do that with their limited merchandise.
