I'm with N.Steiger, just had a look for examples of John's signature and for one, I don't like the way the 'h' is done in John. The surname seems a bit uncharacteristic - to me, it seems reasonably close to what his signature looks like, but not close enough for me. The '76 aspect may give it more credibility, but that means nothing, especially if in this case, if it is a forgery, the forger is a good forger. I'd ask questions to the seller and don't commit until you are satisfied that you can fully trust them and you feel confident within yourself that you are purchasing a genuine item. Until then, be wary. Best, Robin.

Thanks for your good advise Robin. I will not buy this. It seems fake and the asking price is way below

market value.(red flag!)  No Loa from a respected source. I'm steering clear.

Thanks for your help. I'm new to this site. Can you friend me so that I can accept?

Thanks,

Dave Stein

David,

Something of that price, I would ask for a lot of historical information, definite proof if available, because parting with that type of money is a lot for anybody's blood, don't care how rich someone is.

Also, a good point was brought up about the faded nature of the item - wouldn't want it on my wall.

If you are after an authentic Lennon, I've heard Tracks are a good site to look at in the UK but it totally depends how far you are willing to go to have an authentic John Lennon. Also, Frank Caiazzo is supposed to be a reputable authority, though I've heard his reputation was brought into question on an article I read on here about something or other or maybe even try Roger Epperson for advice (he has Signed, Sealed and Delivered as his website) as he has a seemingly excellent reputation.

Good Luck in your acquisition - I want a John Lennon too but I also want a full Beatles signature set - you can get them at a small price (I say small because compared to what you can pay for some items of Beatles memorabilia, it is a relatively good price).

I only have Paul McCartney but he's quite a rare signature nowadays since he doesn't sign much - you could find quite a few McCartneys here and there, but it wouldn't surprise me if that number, not before long, would start to decline, but it depends on what the memorabilia item is, I guess.

Best, Robin.

Thanks for your informative email reply Robin. I def. agree with you.

I just purchased,10 minutes ago, a clean Harrison sig. on his album 33 & 1/3rd.

I got it from Roger at Signed, Sealed and Delivered.

Let's stay in touch.

Hi David

Congratulations on your acquisition - I'm so happy for you, man. George Harrison in authentic form is notoriously difficult to get, so you've done yourself a good job there, well done. Roger is the best in the business, more or less.

I purchased my McCartney from a reputable dealer and I had it verified on AML so I'm really happy about that. Got some nice pieces in my collection and slowly learning where to purchase autographs from where there is less chance of getting burned. Its a learning game but one that's cost me a lot already but also given me a lot of pleasure and potential for future investment, but that's not just the point, as I genuinely enjoy the hobby and the items I have in my collection. The investment part is a safety blanket, more than anything else.

Maybe look at Tracks in the UK as they've got some nice Beatles stuff you can get at affordable prices, up to premium. Well, to be fair, their starting price could be considered premium for some of their things, but compared to some other Beatles memorabilia, I think you can get a good deal at Tracks and I've heard they have an excellent reputation, too.

I have seriously considered selling off my collection to get a premium autograph as its something I really want to do as it would provide enjoyment, potential future investment options and a safety blanket as well, but on a larger scale.

Enjoy your Harrison! Excellent acquisition!

Best, Robin.

Thanks Robin on your kind reply. Like you said, it pays to purchase the better pieces. That goes for you and me. What big piece are you thinking about purchasing? Is it Elvis or Michael Jackson?

Wow, you would sell you whole collection for one piece? That's amazing.

I thought my collection was pretty small!

I bought my McCartney signed glossy photo from a reputable dealer named Jared

Mast/his company on eBay is called Autographs for Sale. His company is tied into

Iconic Auctions. In this sig., Paul wrote "Cheers" which makes it rare.

He signed only 200 such autographs for the NYC premier of his musical.

I'm going to have it looked at by Roger Epperson..get his Loa on it. It's been Loa'd

by PSA already. That's a start. He will also be selling me a Ringo rare signature.

I'm very excited. John Lennon is the elusive signature. I will get it in the next 5-6 months. I'll have Jared score me one.

Dave Stein

Dave,

tracks in the uk  are very good but very expensive .

Thanks for your reply "N". I will steer clear of this. I'm brand new to this site. Can you friend me

so I can accept it?
