a few month ago i posted a discussion on how id sent an image of this Hendrix signature from e bay to PSA for a quick opinion and they came back likely not genuine and how Roger Epperson had in the meantime passed it as genuine

what a surprise to find that now its in the hands of a big autograph dealer at over three times the price its now passed PSA with flying colours and is fully certificated ..how odd

PSA UUU certified useless, untrustworthy and unscrupilous havent used them since and never will again

Thats disgusting. It's not much of a hobby when your competing with flippers and incompetent tpa's.
Bunch of money grubbers.

yes im not happy

That really sucks

It has ALWAYS bothered me how Press Pass collectibles has gotten checkmarks and scribbles "authenticated" by PSA.

PSA just a money grab. I find it amazing that folks actually believe the authentication of an autograph is their highest priority.  They are focused on their bottom line. They have folks authenticating autographs who have no clue. Main reason they don't tell anyone who did the authenticating. They probably google or use EBAY for many of their exemplars.

You bring up a very valid point Rick about basically anonymous people doing the authenticating.  When Steve Z. or Roger authenticate something you know exactly who is doing it.  If PSA and JSA trust their people then they should have them sign whatever certificate they produce.  This way ones that perhaps should not be in the business would be found out.  I also feel every certificate should be dated since I am not sure if they are still authenticating secretarial signatures of the likes of Andy Griffith, Jackie Gleason or Charlton Heston.  I would have much more confidence in them if they would own up to any mistakes they have made.

Me also Ian, but that seems to be the industry across the board,it's all a bit hypocritical!

ive sent them an e mail ill post their reply, there busy at the moment counting their money and sending blank certificates and holograms to auction houses but it says they will get back to me as soon as possible

I'm also sorry to read this. I was very surprised by the Quick Opinion result and thought you were going to go for this one anyway.
I have now twice had PSA quick opinion deem very authentic items "likely not genuine". I do believe that often PSA QO is more than willing to error on the side of caution. I believe that had I sent them in for a full letter, they probably would have passed them. But to me PSA QO is essentially worthless. I will no longer use it. I would trust Roger's QO much more.
I can only assume their response will be along the lines that the QO service is just that of an opinion that isn't as in detail as when submitted.

I think it is apparent by now that the big power sellers have an "in" at PSA. I also wouldn't be surprised if we find out about their corruption in the future. Really sad
