Is anyone going (or has gone) to Roger Waters Us and Them Tour and gotten autographs? If so, any tips?

I may go to one of the Chicago shows at the United Center, or the St Paul show. Any idea where to look for him or what times? Is it better to check the venue or hotel?

Thanks for any help!

Great stuff!!!

Beauties! I'm also agonizing over what to bring to get signed.  I have wish you were here and 3 Dark Sides, and it may sound nuts but I would like my own signed as that's one of my favorite albums of all.I don't have a Wall and that usually looks good signed with the white background but not one of my favorites. Animals is another favorite but the signature does get lost. Decisions!

Not to double your troubles Ian, but what about Reverses? Anything there? Certainly unusual.

Thanks guys. Finally got to reading some other posts and check out all the pics, awesome to see those finished albums and multi signed ones.

I bought a copy of Roger Waters The Wall album (the recent tour/movie album) to take to St Paul with me, along with Animals (my friend doesn't care about autographs so I was lucky enough to be given theirs). I thought the cover of that would be really cool autographed, and something you don't really see much of... But just another idea. I know the feeling though I scanned eBay for days looking for posters or anything else that would look cool. But went with albums since he can be picky about what he signs.

I seen the post about gifts... I asked his security if he accepts gifts, they said no gifts. I also wanted to show I was a real fan/appreciation. But I guess paying hundreds of dollars to see his show covers that haha.

I thought he should make people show their tickets to the show before signing to cut down on the eBay hounds. (Even though a fake ticket could be printed it would cut that down a little at least). He also wouldn't sign for kids I believe because parents were forcing their kids to get stuff signed for them. But not sure the exact reason.

I remember once asking Billy Corgan nicely to sign my ticket for the show that night at Radio City. He said "Aren't you a little old for this Grandpa?" I said something like "Well, I dunno, I have all my hair and you're older than I am so..."

I seem to be the only one who had a positive experience with him. He happily signed for me when I told him it was for my mom. (who is a HUGE Smashing Pumpkins fan) He even did a personal video message for her.

Haha, I don't know about most collectors but I think I got more into it as an adult than a kid. I wanted them as a kid, but didn't have the money or opportunity to get autographs, I just got a few through the mail. I'm selective on what I collect now since I like to display them.

Love the gold full sig Ian.  Best one I've seen.

The homeless were in the Dallas line too.  Heard someone showed up at the back of the line that was supplying the NEW copies of Wall and Dark Side for them to get signed.  Lady behind me a few spots kept telling her 2 kids it's all about the money.  I don't think her kids were allowed to get one signed, I saw others further back were denied, and one really old homeless guy at the end thinking a line for something free was turned away.  I don't have a prob with the regular sellers, I sell myself, but I got my own Dark Side copy signed I've had from way back, probably from a Sound Warehouse!  You don't get to meet these guys in this fashion too often and it's not like I could get extras or bothered to bring help.  I almost went with Animals, just to be diff than the majority out there.  Meddle was my 3rd choice.

Thank you , I was watching all the lps posted on RACC to pick out a good sig. I picked it up from Shane Muir who I had dealings with before at a good price.I wasn't really figuring on going myself but I am caught up in the hype and took the day off to go hang around for a couple of hours. I just hope it doesn't rain or I will probably bag it!

I wouldn't have much of a problem with sellers if it was them getting even a few per day and selling them... not everyone can make it to a show to try and get one. Id prefer getting in person otherwise you mever know 100% if its real... but Ive bought many of my autographs because I live in the middle of no where, not like I can easily go to LA or NY for a movie premiere. So I dont mean to disrespect all sellers by any means... But when they start hiring teams of obvious homeless people (that have no clue who Roger is) to get dozens of them and then stand right outside the fence, pay them, and collect the autographs right where everyone can plainly see, is a little different. Thats the reason many celebs will stop signing. Which seems counterintuitive to me if you want to keep selling autographs... but I guess there's always another celeb to get.

One of the kids there came up to one guy who was being paid to wait in line and asks what are you doing, he said waiting for an autograph. Kid asks why, he says to get money. Kid says who is it... some rock band I guess. I seen the guy paying him come back and instruct him which side to get signed and how to hold it. If I had to guess out of the 100-150 people that probably were in line I'd say may be 30-50 were fans (maybe even less). I used to kind of think they were just rude or didnt care about fans if they didnt sign... but definitely see why they refuse now.

I bought all new copies to get signed just because I wanted them to be in really nice shape since they will be framed and hung on the wall. My personal ones are pretty beat up from use over the years.

Meddle would be a good choice. I love the Animals cover I've not seen many that look really great with signatures though.

Yes, the signatures get lost in the Animals covers. I have a Record Day Lp that has a nice signature but can be hard to see at different angles.

I really like my Animals signature. Roger did it real big in silver across the bottom-center, and it pops. Perhaps there are lesser signatures out there on the same or similar covers?
