Hi.  I am just curious if we have any signed book collectors here on AML.  I have a few signed books myself:  John F. Kennedy, John Lennon, Madonna, and two by Phog Allen (basketball).  While collecting signed books is not necessarily my priority, I actually do like owning them.  And your autograph is nicely secure and protected in the book...and will not fade!  So does anyone else here collect them?  Is there any type you collect, and what do you like about having a signed book?  Or, on the other hand, if you don't like them, feel free to vent!

I own several signed copies of "The Outlaw Trail" by Robert Redford. An outstanding book. "Voices and Silences" signed by James Earl Jones. And several different signed children's books written, illustrated, and signed by Fred Gwynne. These are among my favorites.

I love Rober Redford, and you got James Earl Jones, the author, and Darth Vader all in one!  I'm a big fan of Fred Gwynne too.  The Munsters is probably one of my all-time favorite shows.  And later in life, he was very good in My Cousin Vinny as well.

My Cousin Vinny. Enjoyed that movie a lot. I primarily look for signed autobiographies. The Redford book is fantastic. I have quite a few others but those are my personal favorites. Would love to find a nice signed Connery "Being a Scot".

here here, I also love signed books as a main collectable. We get an autograph and something to read as a bonus. And I agree they preserve very well.

I have a variety of them including independant (not famous) writer's who I have personally met.

Some of my favorites are from Syd Barrett, Buzz Aldrin, Kevin Anderson, Neil Peart, Nick Mason, Bobby Orr and Marcus Luttrel

Wouldn't be a bad idea for someone to start a siged book forum on here as an added category for collectors

I love signed books, I only collect music autographs: Neil Young, Johnny Marr, John Fogerty, Bruce Dickinson and a lot of others.

I mostly only collect books anymore, or programmes.

In books I collect Beatle signed books...Well people associated with them.

Mia Farrow, Prudence Farrow, Jenny Boyd, Pattie Boyd,Cynthia Lennon, Paul Horn, Donovan, and Mike Love. All of which went to India at the same time with The Beatles.

Also have Yoko Ono and Pete Brown signed books. Geoff Emerick and Glyn Johns. Brian Wilson.

Recently picked up Hal Blaine and Carol Kaye of The Wrecking Crew and I have Klaus Voormanns book on order too. I am not big on displaying thingd so books are perfect!

I love the theme, Adam!

Thank you Terrier :)

I concur with what’s been said previously.  I love signed books and they are a great way to collect autographs, signed albums are a thing of beauty for Music collectors, but, in general, I prefer signed books.  Some of my favourites are: James Bond (yes the man who Fleming named his famous character after), Einstein, Hawking, Lennon, Dali, Hockney and Warhol.  The last 3 having great sketches.

This sound impressive Nate! Everyone here has such nice items :)

Thanks Eric.  Some amazing and very personal stuff being shown here, its real cool to see.

Cool topic!

I have slowed down on signed books because they take up so much space. I have some in storage, but here is what is currently on my bookcase, shelf by shelf. These are all signed.
