smudge isnt bad at all
As suggested in the article, I think the smudge was actually attractive to the final two bidders who fought over this. Personally, I would take such fish n' chip stories with a large pinch of salt (pun intended). I don't know why John would eat chips with his fingers in a canteen. If this had been from the gig in Norwich, after which they went across the road to Valori's fish bar, the story would have been much more plausible.
What makes this piece nice is the signatures look great and it has Epstein. For bidders to be excited about the smudge...is just idiotic logic.
If he left a finger print, that would be different.
