My friend's dad (from Sarajevo) was a fan of the Beatles and got this card from London, around mid-sixties. It was sent from a friend as a gift knowing he was a fan. Does it look genuine to you? Any help is welcome!

The photo from 1967 was NOT signed by The Beatles. This was done by an autopen machine...these were done every year from 1963-4 until 1968. Different photo...same first name signatures. If you wrote to the fan club for The Beatles autographs...you'd get one of these...or something signed by someone at the fan club...etc. It was done this way because of the HUGE demand for Beatles autographs...The Beatles couldn't possibly sign all of the requests that they received...it was done to make the fans happy. Now lots of these cards turn up...and people think it's the real thing...it's not...sorry!

Thanks for the quick answer! Yes, it makes sense, they probably got over a millon requests at that point. So, they would use a different colour “autopen” for each to look more genuine?
I guess the real one would look more erratic if you were lucky enough to catch one of them somewhere walking etc.

Agreed.

While it's a fun & impressive fan photo, it's an 'auto-pen' and not the genuine signatures of the band.

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you!
