22UKBlu is now offering mechanical "autographs" as genuine - have a look...an overlay is not necessary. Bold and obvious. GRRR. This sellers offerings are the bulk of the "Bowie's I don't think are real" thread, but this is a new technique which thankfully looks awful - worse than his "drawn" stuff in many ways.

Thanks Paul. I still can't believe this seller shows both in the same auction side by side, as if they are two different items. I have been watching him for a 1980 signature on a 1992 photo or something, never expected a stamp.

Roger is one of the best, period! Apart from his experience, being able to know who is looking at something for you sets him far apart. Add the ability to ask a question if needed...invaluable.

Yes, he would have been 70!

I recall the day after his 50th birthday in 1997, January 8th, at Madison Square Garden. I remember it very well. I had pretty decent seats and a superb and unforgettable time, if not literally electrifying as in much closer quarters. Sustained quality.

Something for everyone in this birthday bash - Billy Corgan for Travis, Frank Black and David Grohl for Paul, even "Under Pressure" for Innuendo. Son Duncan Bowie was one of the cameramen. I will try to dig up my ticket stub and scan it!

The concert is below - the second video is a collection of clips of "old people" reacting to his last video and death. It is very sad and very sweet and ends up with a rather startled "old man" saying "Hey, I could wear a dress!" and a nice gathering of his most memorable guises.
