Unusual MUHAMMAD ALI Signature- could it be real?


  This is a shortened version of Ali's Autograph on a fight ticket from 1977. All I can come up with is that he didn't want to ruin the face of this vintage ticket with his signature or thought he would run out of room. Either way-I like it alot. This fight- I believe he won but took alot of punches from the powerful and very dangerous Shavers. By the way this is real he signed it for me in-person. Thought I would let you guys see this shortened version.

Unless it comes with a photo COA from a witnessed signing, I don't see how this is "authenticatible."

 Hi Steve,

   This is one of those signatures that might be tough to convince everyone of its authenticity. You have to take into consideration his age, health and the fact that he had to hold this and sign it-I may have held it for him, i dont recall. I do know we were standing and this was not laid on a rigid surface for him to sign. I also think he was careful where to place his signature- and cautious not to cover the print. Its just my guess. If you look where he signed inbetween the print and only over his image. I think he thought about it. I might put it on Ebay for a Quick Opinion. But you know what, Likely or unlikely there are 2 people who know for sure and thats Ali & Me. I did get this signed in-person and I don't need to sell it. It's important to show these unusual signatures that are outside of the box. It may not get certified, but thats ok! I like it.

Why put it on ebay for a QO? If you plan on keeping it and you got it in person then you don't need a COA (let alone a QO) You should be especially excited that you met the greatest. Keep this as a memento.

 Here we go-Im gonna get over analyzed. Adam, I just labeled the title for interest and it worked-it was intentional.  Did you think I got confused? Not all authentic signatures will look the norm. I wanted to share this example with everyone. It helps all of us to see in-person examples that alot of people might question.

No, not over analyzing. You wanted interest and that is fine. I believe it is real. I was more curious why someone who got a signature in person starts off a conversation if "it could be real" and later say you were thinking of getting a quick opinion on it. I think you have a nice story and surely we all know how people have shortened signatures and quick signatures and how they vary also through out the years. Nice piece and really cool that you met him.

   I can honestly tell you that out of all the famous people I have met since the 80's, Ali and Robert Plant meant the most to me.

 Yes! I know how special it was to meet Ali-I really do. I dont need a COA-I dont really need anything. I have had this signature for along time with others Ali has signed for me. As a matter of fact I have thousands of autographs and i really dont need anything. Just a little Joy

This looks real. I own authentic, in-person Ali autos. This is his first initial and his last name. He was probably in a hurry.

Hello Sandra,

 Thank you for your response. It is real- just a little off the norm for different reasons. i met Ali at a function in Boston and at Hasbro Hospital in Providence. He went through the entire Hospital greeting the kids and signing autographs and then when he came out to the parking lot to leave, his people said he had to catch a plane- in a hurry. Ali didnt care one bit about the plane-he just kept shaking hands, pictures with fans and more autographs. His people finally got him in the van to go and more people wanted to meet him-so he gets out of the van for more greets. 

He was over the top and the greatest
