Appreciate your thoughts on this one - I'm suspicious as to whether this is even an official 8x10 as the NASA 'worm' logo on the rear didn't appear until 1975...

Great piece to post, Daran. The autograph looks machine signed, but I don't know Armstrong autopen signatures to be able to tell if it's an official one or not.

What's also interesting...and often telling...is that the images are blurry. That's a warning sign to me. Good ones sometimes have out of focus photos, but they're more likely to be found on questionable autographs.

Thanks Steve, interesting point about the blurriness, not spotted that. It didn't sell which is good; the BIN price looked too low anyway which was what got me looking closer.

1,800 pounds = $2,300... not really a low price for a badly faded Armstrong.

It doesn't look like a machine signed signature to you? Look at the beginnings and ends.

I wouldn't make a firm determination based on the blurry image, but it does not look like machine starts and stops to me. Very similar to what you see below.

You're right. That's close enough that it easily could be like the one you posted.

I'd like to see the members here post photos instead of attachments.

Steve Z many thanks for your thoughts. I guess I was comparing the price to other unsubscribed Armstrong WSS. Also intrigued by the NASA logo printed on the rear - suggests this is post 1975 but the reference looks like from earlier period? Did NASA continue to produce these 8x10s with just a logo update?
Signature quality and condition are large factors in price.

These lithos were printed and reprinted many times. What we see here is the worm logo with the older style courier font. Could be a transitional period when they first switched. Typically the older lithos with the meatball logo are most desirable, but I don't think it makes a great difference in value.
