Clearly Steiner is in the top of the heep.  They may be pricey but the chances of getting something fake are on the low end.

My favorite sports auction houses today are Memory Lane and Mile High Card Company. They both have good selections of sports cards and other sports memorabilia including autographs.

Mile High Card Company is a little newer to the auction circuit but they have added Andy Madec to their staff which was a great addition as he owned his own major sports card company and ran auctions for many years before joining them. Brian Drent, the owner of Mile High Card Company is very respected in the hobby as well. I have only won a few items that were not very pricey from them but I always look forward to their offerings.

I subscribe to all of the other major auctions such as Hunt, Legendary Auctions, Leland's, and Robert Edwards and I also like all of them and purchase from all of them from time to time but Memory Lane and Mile High have become my favorites. They provide excellent customer service and ship very safely and promptly.

I highly recommend both of these to sports collectors.

I tried to register with Legendary and it required references from other auction houses. Kind of a pain... I didn't follow through with it. ???

Concur with Randy on Hunts, Memory Lane & Legendary...  Huggins & Scotts are also excellent as well

MAB & CSA aren't as large as the above but they have great offerings and 'in-person" private signings & shows.

Coach's Corner. Always there for constant amusement.

They know how to play the game and know full well that the BBB for that area is nothing but a joke and the AG's office is way to lax or either oblivious to their practice.  They also use the "millions" of items sold and barely a complaint argument over and over again.  The AG's consumer office then brushes it off to ...  well u need to take civil action indepedently... and what idiot is going to go down that path for a few hundred?

Too bad the US Attorney out of NY isn't running PA as I doubt they would last long.

I suspect there are very few true collectors who buy at Coach's Commode.

As easy as it is to blame the buyers, they are still victims of crime.

Most people who are buying their first autographs do not have the knowledge and experience (good or bad) that many members of this site have. Did you not make a mistake in this hobby? I know I have. But it's learning curve, like with everything else. And you said, in another post, not to trust anyone or anything, but AML is a place for people to learn from others and their mistakes, including members who represent legitimate companies that authenticate and deal in autographs. How can anyone learn without trusting others, or making mistakes? But making a mistake doesn't mean they should give up and leave the hobby. That's a very negative message for people who are visting AML for the first time.

By the way, the folks that run Coach's Corner could read your reply and go to sleep feeling they are not criminals, just people who sell to idiots that should know better. We shouldn't give the criminals an out like that.

& laughing their A$$'s off all the way to bank.

i am with myself - except for when i do eBay ( Chris Williams tried to get me to bite one day, awhile ago, but i didn't - Diogenes found his honest man that day). but, on the subject of auction houses - MORPHYS is tops in my book. I won a 1937 ROCKOLA World Series arcade game that when it was delivered here had some issues that weren't reported.  The owner of Morphys (Tom) made it right by refunding me what I requested. He and his auction house are top shelf in my book
