Today, I received my signed Sting figure that I ordered from TNA. It also came with a free Impact Hat that my son is wearing in the background of this picture!

Took my lunch break today to attend a business networking event hosted by Sure Connexions, a faith based non-profit business networking group based here in the Atlanta area. The guest speaker was former Atlanta Falcons cornerback, Bobby Butler. Bobby was an All-American cornerback for Florida State from 1977-1980, and was the Falcons 1st Round Draft Pick in the 1981 NFL Draft. He shared with us his personal testimony about how the early Christian influences his father bestowed on his life helped him to become the success story he turned out to be.

Last week was really nice. Got these autographs through the mail:

Joe Restic, starting safety for Notre Dame's 1977 National Championship team.

John Ennis, former Braves, TIgers, and Phillies pitcher (2002-2007).

Hale Irwin, 3-time U.S. Open champion and member of the World Golf Hall of Fame.

Got this little gem in the mail today, Phil Russell. Phil was a fantastic defenceman for 15 NHL seasons from 1972-1987 with the Black Hawks, Flames, Devils, and Sabres. He was a 3-time All-Star 1976, 1977, and 1985. He was the Flames captain from 1981-1983.

Big sports collecting day today. First, I was able to stop by one of my local Publix grocery stores where the Falcons were promoting Kraft products. I picked up a few items and was able to score 2 fantastic autographed 8x10s of former Falcons great Gerald Riggs and current Falcons star Matt Bosher. Gerald played for the Falcons from 1982 - 1988, and was a 3-time Pro Bowl selection from 1985-1987. He was the leading rusher in the NFC in 1985 with 1,719 yards. Matt is a really good punter who is steadily improving, averaging 42 yards a punt last year, and 47 yards a punt this yer. He also is the Falcons kickoff specialist. As if that was not good enough, I get and find a true gem in my mail box. Don Edwards, the 1980 Vezina Trophy winner along with Bob Sauve, graciously signed the card I had of him, AND my letter I sent to him! I tell ya, to have an evening like this sure does ease the frustrations of work and fighting for your life in traffic.

Got this beautiful signed 8x10 of former Falcons quarterback Steve Bartkowski in the mail at work today. Steve was the greatest quarterback for the Falcons up until Matt Ryan, and even beat out the great Dan Marino for the NFL passing title in 1983.

This past weekend, I had the oppurtunity to meet one of the premier players in all of baseball right now, Braves relief pitchcer Craig Kimbrel. Craig was so nice and accomadating to us fans that showed up at the Harley Davidson dealership in Cartersville, GA. Everyone had a great time meeting and greeting last year's National League Rookie of the Year.
