Today, I received an autograph of former LSU track star, Larry Shipp. Larry signed for me his 1990 LSU Collegiate Collections card. Larry was a great hurdler, as he was the NCAA Outdoor Champion in the 120 yard high hurdles in 1975.

Today, I received in the mail an autograph of former Miami Dolphins linebacker, Bob Brudzinski. He signed for me a 2004 Topps Fan Favorites card. Bob was a great linebacker for the Dolphins during their heyday in the early 1980's. He played in 2 Super Bowls, and was an anchor for that great "Killer B's" defense they had back then. My thanks goes out to member David Catlin for his assistance on this one!

Got an autograph in the mail today of former Miami Dolphins linebacker, Charles Bowser. He signed for me my 2004 Topps Fan Favorites card. Charles was a great linebacker for the Dolphins. He was a key member of that famed 1984 "Killer B's" defense the Dolphins had that won the AFC Championship. He was also a great player at Duke University, and is still Duke's all-time career and single-season sack leader.

Saturday, I headed down to the CNN Center and got Braves rookie sensation, pitcher Jonny Venters. He signed a 4x6 picture, my 2009 Gwinnett Braves baseball, and my 2010 Atlanta Braves team ball. He is having a great rookie season so far; 4 wins, no losses, and a 1.09 ERA. I missed Bruce Sutter and some other Braves at the stadium Sunday, and was feeling kind of bummed today. So, to cheer myself up, I headed over to my favorite sports memorabilia store, BP Sports in Marietta, GA, and bought something I've had my eye on for quite a while: a Carl Eller autographed 8x10. I so enjoy collecting Hall of Famers from different sports, and Carl was one of the best for that great Vikings "Purple People Eaters" defense. All in all, a good weekend at hand.

Today's mail brought me a signed 1966 Topps card of former Yankees, Angels, Red Sox, Braves Cubs, and Astros outfielder and first baseman, Lee Thomas. Lee was an American League All-Star in 1962, and once hit 3 homeruns in a game in 1961. He was also a fantastic baseball executive after retirement as a player. He was the architect for all those great Cardinals teams of the 1980's, that great Phillies team on 1993, and was the guy responsible for getting Manny Ramirez to sign on to play for the Red Sox. Lee was also kind enough to include one of his own personal custom cards signed as well! What a great guy.

This pass weeekend was another stellar Pro Footbasll HOF weekend. There were several off site autographs sessions going on all weekend. Over 90 HOFer's came back to town to enjoy the festivities. This is the first year that the new enshrinees were doing individual autograph sessions as well as the group session. Mainly due to the fact that Emmitt "I'm greedy" Smith hsd jumped the price of this years class to $500. Emmitt Smith to my knowledge requires the highest price in the market for his autograph. It's not enough that he demands $229 for a flat, no mini, no football, not jersey, a flat. The pricing goes up from there to a staggering $299, you say want him to add "HOF 10" not "HOF 2010" but HOF 10, be ready to plunk down an additional $189.

Jerry Rice is $149 for a flat, yes some of you will think that is ridiculous butt that is the going rate for a talent like him. Marino, Sanders, Starr, Namath, they are all in that $129 - 159 price. The other 2010 enshrinees LeBeau, Jackson, Randle, Little, and Grimm were more reasonable at $49 to $59.

I knew there would still be a large demand for Emmitt SMith's autograph but nothing like I witnesses. On Saturday, they called for autograph tickets for Emmitt between #'s 325 - 350, I saw tons of Helmets and Jerseys so people were plunking down the cash, on Sunday during the session with the whole class that number was close if not more than 300 and after that was another Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith only session and I would say that was easily another 250 - 300 autograph seekers plunking done the cash. Easily Emmitt drew at least $25K in autograph fees this weekend.

Personally, on the items that I collect and get signed I was able to get the (7) members of this years class plus Joe Gibbs, Eric Dickerson, Ronnie Lott, Bruce Smith, Thurman Thomas, and Jim Taylor. The real bargain was Jim Taylor he had a table set up in the HOF Museum store and was signing copies of his book "The Fire Within". The signed price of the book was $27 and that included any inscriptions. Taylor's autograph at a show normally is about $100 - $125. It was another great weekend, if you've never been to the Pro Football HOF during induction weekend you have no idea what you are missing!
