I like the Beckett-slabbed Bowie. And I like Press Pass. They're careful about authenticity, and keep a large inventory, a lot of it rare and popular. Their prices aren't low but they're usually not unreasonable.

I agree, but I am very wary these days. PPC is often full priced, but usually great material.

The point is that someone shows off a piece they have.  The response is "you almost certainly overpaid".   Is that polite?

I don't know. I can't predict the expected response. I said what I could, which you agreed with. What I do know is this - if comments are limited to "polite" only, much will be lost.

I awoke this morning to this long thread. I agree with Eddy. You are a rude dude. I have only been on this site a few days and feel as if I have been talked down to by you on many responses. You certainly could use a lesson in proper etiquette when responding to people. There are many different ways to say the same thing. This is just my observation, but it seems like you could use a few more hobbies in your life. You are wound tight on the autograph thing. What was and is supposed to be fun has turned into anxiety by your comments. I post stuff for all to see and enjoy. I spend enough time making sure that the autographs I collect will pass a TPA before I resell. I do all I can to make my experience with other buyers and sellers positive. I have almost 300 items in my ebay store, alI of which I have spent time getting authenticated before listing. I have a positive feedback rating of 100% with over 1700 feedback responses.I understand that you are unimpressed with "papers" and such. You seem to be a guy that values his own opinion more than others and has no problem letting others know about it. I agree with Stepeanuts, there is nothing worrisome about this piece, except a dude like you casting doubt on it, which could cause others to pile on. I also think that you will see nothing wrong with your behavior and will continue to defend it regardless of what others think. I won't be posting any new images, I'll just be asking for opinions on occasion. I understand you have been on this site for 7 years. I think you're a bit full of yourself. No need to respond..............I'm sure this forum wasn't designed for 2 people to air out a dispute. Thanks again to Eddy

This item was listed by auction house Gotta Have It Rock n' Roll about 4-5 years back. I don't know where it originated at. It fetched around $1500 with bp. I believe this to be GENUINE, though I am sure others will have their own opinion...

Personality differences aside, knowledgeable people have tried to make it clear in this and other threads that what the experts (and that includes professional authenticators) have long believed about Bowie autographs is evolving and in the near future our understanding of what is authentic - and what is not - will change.  As a result, there will be a lot of very disappointed or angry people. But the truth should not be sacrificed in order to save hurt feelings. 

Whether you like his personality or not, EKL clearly has dedicated himself to studying autographs, whereas many others prefer to just blindly accept the authentication companies' opinions.  You don't have to like someone to respect their opinion and experience.
