That's a good question, Thurston. From what I've seen, the top Beatles dealers aren't charging as big a premium as they used to.

Its intersting when collectors are happy to pay a premium on a collectible, supposing their not planning of selling in the near future, wouldn't hurt.Paying a premium on a item that isn't particularly rare would be a mistake (eg  whoever signs abundantly). Something for collectors to gauge.

I agree with you completely. And Beatles autographs from dealers like Tracks and Frank Caiazzo tend to be worth more when the collector sells, too. Their provenance provides assurance of authenticity.

Provenance makes the autographs all that more desirable on those old autographs.

i would rather not say specifically what I paid. I will say it was under $500. Not a bad deal imo.

Wait until they find a Beatles autograph set thats inscribed, To Adam!

Haha. I wish i would be able to afford it, but that will be a sad day when i see that and have to pass :(

That's fair value. Half the price it would be without the folds, which are barely visible.

Comment by Thurston bell on July 31, 2018 at 8:20pm

Is that so, paper folds decrease the value?

Comment by Steve Cyrkin, Admin on July 31, 2018 at 8:50pm

It depends on where the folds are, how visible, and other factors. Adam's piece has excellent eye appeal. It's also in pencil, which never fades like ink can, but ink is usually more desirable.

If Adam paid under $500, then he didn't pay much of a premium for it being from Tracks, if any. Good value.
