About one week ago I was looking to sell some cards on eBay.
I needed some fast cash and decided to try and sell a 2000 SP Authentic Chirography Sandy Koufax I bought on July 27, 2018. I bought it for what I thought at the time was a great price, so I knew if I listed it I could list it cheap, and it would sell fast and I would get the money I needed at the time about one hour after I listed the card.
I received a message from an eBay member, perch712, I had never herd of or done business with before asking me where I got the auto. I responded I got it here on eBay about a year ago, and asked why. Then I received a response with this website and blogs about the Koufax.
At first I was in disbelief ,but it just so happens one of the cards listed on the blog was the exact scan of the card I have. After a little checking it became clear I had a counterfeit, and to get a professional 2nd opinion I sent a scan of the card to PSA for a quick opinion for $10 and their opinion was "likely not genuine."
Now with two great forms of evidence, I contacted the seller (superiorappraiser) on eBay about the counterfeit. He responded he would not refund my money because it has been a year since I bought it, so out of curiosity I checked his items for sale, and believe it or not, he still had the Koufaxes listed on eBay with the same scan he used when I bought one.
He gave me the run around about a refund saying he had to research the issue but still has not taken down the listing, leaving me no other choice than to believe he knows he is selling counterfeits based on his attitude.
When i found out about mine, without hesitation I took down my listing because I value my reputation and it's the right thing to do. I was also victim to the 1995 Jeter Upper Deck minors counterfeit rookie autograph, and when I contacted the seller I received a refund no questions asked after he saw this website and blog. He now is doing what I am doing: confronting the seller for a refund. I wish him luck.
I am posting the eBay listing below of the counterfeit Koufax autographs. Look at the scan: it is listed in the blog and happens to be the exact same autograph I have. I will keep you all posted if i get a refund or not.

I have let eBay and PayPal know about the fraud. Thanks and be careful buying on eBay. I will be from now on, thanks to someone on this awesome website of people who care and protect the hobby.
Thanks,
Randy
Great blog, Randy. Thanks for writing it—and especially for not selling your Koufax.
thank you steve,i am currently working on getting a refund or exposing this sell for knowingly selling counterfeits he has been told about the Koufax auto's and given proof there fake but still has them listed for sale in ebay, and because of his attitude and actions or should i say non actions makes me think he knew about the fakes in one of our first conversations he told me he has sold several over the past year or so and i am the only one who has said anything about it,anyway i am going to leave his link for listing i am trying to get as many people as possible to report the listing as a fraud because he is knowingly selling counterfeits,he told me last week he needed to research the situation before he decided what to do but i have given him 2 layers of proof with the blog and a PSA quick opinion of (likely not genuine),i can not believe ebay does nothing to these crooks, i reported it and nothing has happened yet so i hope some people on this site go to the listing and report it the san is the 4th pic of counterfeits in Christopher Williams blog about the fakes

sorry did not spell check my last comment guys i hope you can figure out the typo's
We can but you can edit it after you save it, too.
Randy,
eBay doesn't seem to be as interested in protecting bidders from fraud as they used to be. I hope that changes someday.
i agree Steve i am going to give them a full court press about this issue though because i am outraged it happened not just once but twice i was victim to the 95 jeter counterfeit as well as the Koufax fortunately the jeter seller was honest and refunded me right away
Thanks for doing the right thing, Randy! The hobby needs more sellers like you.
thanks again steve!,i just had an interesting talk with ebay customer service about this counterfeit Koufax seller, they said that both them and paypal are on the case and to be patient this seller is under investigation and that paypal has just about secured my refund funds for me and it is very likely if the seller does not comply and stop selling counterfeits he will be banned from ebay and most likely loose his paypal account as well, well this all sounds encouraging but until i see positive results thats all it is encouraging information i want to see results so stay tuned i will update events as they unfold, this seller told me he has sold several of these Koufax cards over the last few years hopefully those buyers will get a chance to confront the seller and get refunded as well, sure i will be happy if i get refunded but until we exposed and confront all the counterfeit sellers on ebay i will not be totally happy i want to try and make sure no one else has this happen to them in the future so we all can shop with confidence ebay is policing there the sight for fraud listings!
i told you all in my last posts i would keep you posted about the 2000 Sp authentic sandy Koufax counterfeit auto results and i am glad to say that i have received a 100% refund for the card from (superiorappraiser) on ebay, seems he is a victim just like me that got scammed into buying a fake autograph,it took a little time to convince him about the fraud but i was successful in making him see the light that were both victims of buying counterfeit autographs anyway now he is going after the person he bought the card from if he keeps me posted i will let you all know how he does but i think he bought the card from the source and will have no luck getting refunded!,i wish him the best and hope he is successful in recovering his loss, the lesson learned here for all of us is to make sure your buying authentic merchandise when shopping on ebay the counterfeiters are getting better at there fraud sports memorabilia is big money and why they target certain high end athletes only our vigilance and awareness will help stop them from ruining the hobby we love!
I'm glad to hear you got your refund!
