James,

Just tell your friend to be cautious about John Kayne until he knows more about him. He could be 100% legit...or not. The last thing he wants to do is give his personal information to someone he doesn't know.

It especially bothers me because John changed details about the suit from his first post in a different discussion to this one and is not posting contact info, etc.

You're absolutely right, Steve. Sometimes when a person has a bad experience with a business, he wants to find someone in a similar boat. But with Kayne just disappearing, he seems a little sketchy. Hopefully my friend has given me the facts as they truly happened.

And I don't want to come across as a PSA hater...because I'm not. They make mistakes just like everyone else. Generally, they do very good work, and hopefully that will continue. I hope my friend's experience is just an aberration. I strongly believe that quality TPAs are needed by the hobby. We have to have qualified "referees" or else buying and selling autographs gets a lot more complicated.
A few pages won't load on my phone. Did he ever prove his claims or was this just a dead end? I get friends asking me about sigs in topics I'm not personally studied on, and I've pointed them to PSA for a QO. I'd stop that entirely if he is on to something.

John Kayne hasn't provided any evidence of his claims or has even fleshed-out what exactly the situation is.

Keep in mind that PSA Quick Opinions are only for autographs at auction. PSA has been pretty good on them in the past, but I don't know how they are since the staff change.

You may simply recommend this site to your friends for authenticity opinions. You can usually get reliable answers, and at least figure out of something is worth sending in to be authenticated.

Thanks Steve. When trying to click on any page in this discussion other than the current one, I get taken to a "website unavailable" error page or get brought back to the home page. I wasn't able to look it all over, but I'll check it out tonight on my desktop.

Thanks for letting me know, Innuendo. I'll check it out. Sorry for the hassle.

Hardly a surprise, given his initial post. Hence my immediate response. I figured this thread would turn to crap in a hurry.

I heard they made mistakes but I know companies that trust PSA thoroughly.  I like them as most of my graphs are authenticated by them and I believe full heartedly my graphs are genuine.

This Mr."Kayne" dropped a bomb and ran. Seems a little strange to me.

I don't know Ian, seems like we have seen this song and dance before.

Absolutely!

Let's not forget, that we are here to help Autographs Collector that have a passion for the game. The question is How can I help?
