I see the opening post ball is 244 dollars with around 20 minutes no bids. It comes with a National Pastime cert. I didn't know they sent them out. I never received any years ago when I bought a few items when they did some of the first private signings with Carl Hubbell,Charlie Gehringer or Cool PaPa bell.

You occasionally see these blue marker signed DiMaggio baseballs on the market. I have one in my collection and love it.

Marker on a ball is usually less than optimal, but these really pop and look great. At this point, if they haven't bled or faded significantly, they probably won't. Thumbs up.

I agree, Steve. Many of them are rather eye-catching, often really standing out boldly. About 12 years ago, while I was in a local sports collectibles store I used to frequent, an older regular customer brought in one of these blue-marker Joe D. balls. As I was admiring it, he said he would sell it to me for $120 if I wanted it. He said he got it in-person several years before. He was a good guy, who was friends with the owner, and I knew he was telling the truth...so at that price, I jumped at the chance.

Unfortunately, when the economy tanked in 2008, I decided to sell it to another local dealer who gave me $225 for it. So now I'm DiMaggio-less, and starting to feel the need to snag another one.
