My wife purchased this Jimi Hendrix Experience autographed guitar for me.  Can I get your thoughts, it comes with authentication papers, but this is my first foray into music memorabilia, I only own sports memorabilia.  This was a significant purchase...Thoughts??

how many signed doors hendrixs albums are actualy real.

lets say they had a 3 year active touring scheldule and life when they were famous. I would say not many.

belive it not a lot of old clothe turned up because of the musicians crashed at peoles houses so stuff was left here or there.

The guitar is a 1960s Teisco Japanese WG-4L

Many to choose from for manufacturing "rarities".

Although the asking prices here are ludicrous.

Definitely fake!

Thanks all for your help, much appreciated!!

MC91 -- would it be possible to keep us apprised of your efforts regarding your "signed" Hendrix guitar?

I agree with everyone else here that the item is bogus.

I'm going to assume -- with Steve's guidance that you are going to make an effort to undo the deal.

I know I -- and I suspect many members here would love to see a running discussion of how your efforts to that end unfold.

13 thousand dollars is a lot of money

I wish you great luck in righting this travesty

Mr. and Mrs. MC91 are smart and handling it right. I think they'll be fine.

I want to thank Steve who gave me practical, and honest advice, and the rest of you for helping me out.  Lesson learned.  I look forward to sharing my story very soon once this gets resolved.

Hi Sling, perhaps the nature of the materials has something to do with it? Nitro was used by Fender until well after CBS, no? Did 1960's ball point take well on Nitrocellulose? Nitro is so soft you might get an "etching"...

so [people didnt want there guitars damaged?

they only wanted them smashed by pete townhend or lit on fire by hendrixs but deface with writing  on .lol

haha good reply.

Smashed guitars would be cool collectibles from the likes of Hendrix, Townsend, Blackmore, Paul Stanley, Eddie Van Halen, Curt Cobain, Jeff Beck,  and other big names ...
