I am working on my dad's baseball collection and he has some amazing cards many of which are not graded. I am curious if anyone can tell if this autograph of Mickey Mantle is authentic.

I took it to a local card shop and they think it is legit but I could use some additional opinions before I consider selling on Ebay.

I was told the card is 100% authentic Topps 1966

I like it. Thumbs up.

95% for authentic. The main thing I don't like is that he missed the white sweet spot with Mickey. Rarely if ever did that. Still, leans way more towards authentic than not.

very very nice

nice Terrior. Gorgeous example. More typical than the OP. He also missed the white sweet spot on yours, this time with the Mantle.

Drops of ink at the beginning of the M's are beautiful. The OP example does not have that which I didn't like. In fact the OP's first M, doesn't meet the top or drop ink?????

Thanks Fudd!  I think the sharpie might obscure some of the normal characteristics.  The flow of the OP example looks good to me, and the "ick" looks spot on. that is the area that most of the forgers screw up.  Notice how he moved the Mantle over on mine to stay in the light area, but didn't need to on the OP example.

That's a nice Mick on a '66 card.

Thanks everyone for all the responses. I am a bit hesitant to sell on Ebay, is anyone in this group interested in making me an offer?

Dennis,

That is a nice card. Get opinions on value before you sell, but there are some very fair members on this site.

Guys, is this one where getting it authenticated will make it worth at least a few $100 more?

I ask that, Dennis, because authentication on Mantle is about $100, and it sometimes isn't worth it.

Steve, you are correct.  Getting that authenticated would easily fetch a few hundred dollars more.

Thanks, Chris. If that card grades 4 at BAS, PSA or SGC, what do you think Dennis may be able to sell it for?

But sometimes it can bring you so much more you should do it.
