Mid 70´s when theThe  Bay City Roller played my hometown Helsinki, Finland I was the only boy outside the hotel trying to get autographs. (There were about 100 girls). When the band left the hotel I was about to get Alan Longmuir´s autograph, when he was pushed so hard that he dropped the pen and I didn´t get the autograph. (The staff of local pop magazine Suosikki new about my hobby and they got me the signatures, but that is another story). Years later, early 90´s when I was already working for a radio station The Bay City Rollers played one of our park concerts and I was their host on behalf of the station. After the concert we went to some pubs. The line up had changed, but Alana Longmuir was still in the band. During that visit they stayed at the same hotel as they did in the 70´s. After many pubs we took a taxi back to their hotel. Before saying good night I told Alan Longmuir the story about not getting his autograph in the ´70´s. We both were bit dunken... so he decided that we must finish the business. At 4 am (no screaming girls) we walked to the same spot outside the hotel where I missed the autograph and he signed it for me.    R.I.P. Alan Longmuir (June 20 1948- July 2.2018)

That is a really cool story, Juha!  Sometimes life has a fascinating way of making things work out.  It sounds like it was worth the wait.  Thanks for sharing that with us.
