One of rock’s greatest drummers has died.  Peart passed away from brain cancer at the age of 67.

Rush was one of my favorite bands in high school.  “Tom Sawyer” is one of my favorite songs ever.

Truly a sad day in rock music.

I have seen Rush 15 times and loved each and every show - Even when Geddy Lee's voice wasn't there any more.

Best concert ever!  Farewell to Kings tour at Chicago Amphitheater. A phenomenal drummer and deeply philosophical lyricist RIP Professor of the drum kit!

My rush treasure

In the 1980s, whenever someone complained that the song lyrics were immature, and nothing like the songwriting of the Vietnam era, I always told them that they could not have possibly been listening to Rush.  It is terribly sad to read this news today.  He was a genius, and will forever live through his art.

Yes, he was indeed a great lyricist.  Rush played music that could get your testosterone reved up, that could make you want to put the metal to the floor, and yet be so poetic and meaningful in the process.  Their music really made me want to “rock ‘n roll all night.”  Different group, I know, but you get the point.

Oh, aren’t I suave.  I meant to say, “put the pedal to the metal” not “metal to the floor.”  WTH?!  I’m just so damn sophisticated sometimes.  Lol.

Saw them during the Grace Under Pressure tour in Nov, '84. First and only time I ever saw them. Very cool. Subdivisions is my favorite song. RIP N.P
