Over $10,000.00 worth of Jackie Gleason stickered stuff available on EBAY. Would you pay $299.00 for this?:http://www.google.com/images?q=jackie+gleason+psa/dna&oe=utf-8&...

If people want to defend PSA/DNA then have at it...

Good note, Kevin.
In autographs, like any collectible, specialists are critical. When a service doesn't use them, that's not the fault of the ones they use. It's the fault of the service.

JUst looked at thecead site and it appears my jackie gleason is a secretarial signature. Great sit to have available. Thanks Jim Johst

interesting.  what jumps out at you is the "jockie" one but the others appear acceptable.  What also jumps out at you is the source of the "alleged to be" authentic ones.  That being said how could so many of them get not only into the mainstream but auctioned off.   R&R auction stopped the flow awhile back and has been cleaning up the mess since then so I've heard.  Yet another recall however we can be assured they are perhaps one of the only ones doing so.

Re:  " Jimmy runs a class act operation in my opinion.".

Per Roger's comment.     I do not know Jim that well, except speaking to him a couple times.   But I have used their services (along with PSA ) many times over the past several years.   And based on my actual experience, I totally concur with Roger's statement.  Again, Based on Experience, not bloviating hyperbole.

Those in here and other online forums that make derogatory remarks about JSA or PSA I would guess many have never even used their services themselves.   They just read “sounds bites” and then take their “dumps” wherever anyone might listen to them.   The obvious indication is when they make it "personal".

This is fodder for a whole other thread topic, but much of the anger to PSA/JSA is driven by people/dealers who are angry that these "upstarts" have moved in and "taken away" the dealers "power" and "authority."

The same story has played out whenever third party grading comes in. Some old school comic dealers scream about the "corrupt CGC." Same with coins, etc etc.

Well I guess we minions will have to continue in the vast space of bloviating hyperbole...

Opps, that's right I can't do that as I have had direct interaction and have blogged about it previously but appreciate those (whereever they are) that bring to the attention to collectors the obvious and significant errors made by TPAs in various genres as Zarelli & VanDerhoven amongst others have done.  I guess these class acts are posting the lists while cancelling bogus certifications that have been made and floating around all over the place especially EBay.   Oh, that's right it's only an opinion.

Comparing people here with other websites while leveling allegations of derogatory remarks deserves the following response;

DB,

Why such a bad mood? Upset that Coach's Corner closed your account before you could bid on the Obama/Robinson?

LOL

Why would anyone seriously expect PSA/DNA to comment on this issue? I released my Heston Study almost six months ago and I am still waiting for a response to my initial email... let alone a public response.

I echoed some of Kevin's sentiment toward JSA because James Spence personally responded to me within a day or two. They at least appear to be open to feedback and have the courtesy of responding to earnest inquiries.

Steve Z., because they tout themeselves as "The" place for Authentication.  Demonstrating that these places that have "stopped" the blood loss (if in fact they have done so) is the first step.  Correcting what's in the "field" is the 2nd step.  That is how real quality operations work.  A Statement apparently issued by JSA and published here by someone was fine and I don't personally have any vendetta or ill will toward spence or orlando (as we know some other places seem to apparently have).  PSA should they have ever decided to issue one would have said the same thing.  In fact Orlando did acknowledge they will look into it and based on a "Char" they certified perhaps did.  However, we constantly see what I hope was the pre-inventory on them every day on EBay especially carrying a PSA/DNA stamp.   So did they really accept the revelation or not?

When you tout yourself as being THE Authenticator one needs to dispel erroneous myth, inuuendo or folklore (and not just file a lawsuit that takes years),  Maybe they could take a play out of Bobby's page at R&R ~ better yet contract him for their PR.

Such a shame seeing all these wonderful pieces that would be tremendous collectibles -- if  only the Gleason were authentic.
