Over $10,000.00 worth of Jackie Gleason stickered stuff available on EBAY. Would you pay $299.00 for this?:http://www.google.com/images?q=jackie+gleason+psa/dna&oe=utf-8&...

If people want to defend PSA/DNA then have at it...

1987 from colon cancer although in 1986 Joe the Bartender knew more than most about his condition after being diagnosed with diabetes.

I tend to believe they are several notches above morales even with the plethora of errors they seem to make in certain genres.  There is no comparision from my standpoint but the point is taken.

Seeme the adoption of these "modern standards" is the root cause, Mike.  So until we address the root cause and start cancelling certs floating around on non-authentic it's a roll of the dice more often than not.

case in point Mike,  the legendary auction that Greg cited several pages ago that had this "pre-certified by" PSA/DNA Gleason up for sale and regardless of inquiries and links to this thread the item is still up for sale and with 7 bidders at a "bargain" for only $275.00.  With six days left someone is certainly getting a steal.

then again, with a 'pre-cert" from PSA/DNA you don't actually receive anything "official" from them (I have written about this before) if u win the item unless you send it in for a "full LOA" then you get something "official"

It's probably why R&R Auction, regardless of when they act, stands by far and away at the head of the pack because they continue to have the courage to act.

Greg, I can see the pictures of past auctions.  You have to scroll down the listing to the Image heading.

Believe Cyrkin et all (and most of us as well) have expressed a need for them to have a quality control czar.

Chris Williams has been in contact with Joyce Randolph. What about asking him if he could contact her for 70s-80s examples of Jackie's signature she knows are legit?
Mike, they are on the same notch as a novice collector. Mistake, mistake, mistake. Why should they admit their mistakes when collectors keep paying them for their "opinion."
Steve, she is VERY nice!  Write her a letter.
I'll pass, thanks.

Daniel,

Thanks for letting us know!

I'll let Greg or another member active on this topic do it. This site most of all is about empowering collectors. If someone messaged you for her address could you provide it? Thanks

Daniel, yes, Ms. Randolph is an extremely nice, sweet and humble lady, but to put her "on the spot," in my opinion, is inappropriate.
That's fine. She said Jackie used a secretary, so I didn't think it was putting her on the spot.
Steve, Ms. Randolph will be 87 this October and I don't think it would be appropriate to contact her about this subject and to put her "on the spot."

People are replying to messages so deeply they can't be responded to in-line.

I agree...this is a wrap. Good work, Greg!

I disagree about Linda Carter—we need to know about her secretarials. I sold someone a Wonder Woman SP last week and I need to make sure I didn't sell them a secretarial.

Let's do secretarials in their forum category (entertainment, music, history, etc.), and have a separate discussion for each person.

Start several at a time if you want to...this is really valuable stuff.
