I am interested in buying a photo but it has a sticker stuck over it which is just horrible. Can it be removed without damaging the photo

no you can't remove it and the hologram will damage the photo.
It couldn’t be removed with something like Un Du Adhesive Remover? I haven’t tried it.
This is just the dumbest thing ever. Who wants one of their stickers on the front of anything collectible? I would not even want one on the back, but the front just detracts from value as far as I am concerned. As for removing the sticker, I would speak with a paper restorer, and would never think of trying it myself.
actually, unfortunately a lot of the power sellers on ebay do this & completely ruin it
Is it just me, or is this whole hologram/sticker thing done by TPA's just absurdly dated? Fans don't want that crap on their stuff, and the hit/miss nature of just about every authentication firm out there seems to suggest you'll be alienating many otherwise interested collectors.
But all that aside, what's the point? In this age of high quality scans and low priced high definition photography, can't these firms just keep a database of online digital records for just as easy access as the stupid sticker + paper COA setup that stems from the 90s? Autograph World has been doing that for two decades. Or would that make PSA, JSA or Beckett do a whole extra minute of work they just can't be bothered with despite the stupid wads of cash being stuffed down their pants?
So many people in this hobby get locked into trends from a moment in time, and it seems like too few people seem to stop and think about how little sense continuing to submit to these archaic practices is.
yes fully agree with you Rich. Possibly another reason the power sellers stick a psa sticker ont he front of it is then an unhappy buyer on ebay cant file an ebay claim as item not as described ,- but who wants a lovely looking autograph ruined with a great big psa sticker stuck all over it?
i understand that there are collectors who don't want a hologram on the photo but i do frame a lot of mine autographed items and when i sell one i don't have to dismantle the whole frame to let the buyer see what's on the back of the photo. the best thing is to have a photo of the item on the coa and that would solve a lot i think. yes, autograph world and TopPix do it the right way ''and some more''.
Is there any chance that using a hair blow-dryer would work on these stickers? I use one for removing many other types of labels.
It is not possible to remove the sticker without leaving a mark that you will always notice. You will need to decide which you prefer to see. Personally, the stickers do not bother me. I do not prefer them, but I would never pass on an opportunity to purchase an autograph because it has a sticker affixed to it.
