Worst Artists Signatures (so you know who not to buy from in the future)

On the back of a bunch of really useful threads, especially the autopen artists, I thought it'd be nice to have in one place a list of poor signatures, lazy autographs or even dots (yes, you Lady Gaga). Please only write down the artist name and if it is a plain letter, ghost signed or just very lazy sig.

Oh come on Seth’s S’s were hilarious. What do you expect from a professional stoner.

id rather a carefully done giant massive S than some of the other nonsense.

Ha, I guess you are right, it is a thoroughly written S

He also spent days confirming HE wrote those glorious giant S’s on social media.

drugs.

Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden), Lars Ulrich (Metallica) and Lithuanian singer Andrius Mamontovas barely sign the first letter of their name and then draw a random line. Also agree with whoever mentioned Nikki Sixx.

There are examples of the opposite too -  Paul Stanley, Ronnie James Dio, Dave Holland (Judas Priest) and Steve Harris (Iron Maiden) write / wrote extremely detailed and good looking signatures even for quick street autographs.

I like Bruce's - instantly recognisable.... also think Chris Cornell's is cool, despite the criticism, if you look at all the jagged edges it actually reads 'Chris'...

Kiera knightley is one of the worst would never buy it

Ariana Grande just signs her initials.

At least I got a good auto from her in the mail back in the day

Michael Ondaatje (The English Patient) is easily the worst Canadian signer by a country mile. It's not even close.

Most people get a letter (which could look like an L or an M, depending on how charitable he's feeling), followed by a straight line and a curve at the end. If you're lucky, you might get the word "To" followed by another little squiggle. I'm convinced that he gave up on signing almost completely in the 80s and just barely indulges people. I gave up on collecting his stuff because the signatures were so lazy.

Here's a pic from a comparative listing:

Chris Cornell is another. Albeit very consistent, still just a scratch.

no more new Cornells coming, we know that, and his squiggle looks like a jagged cactus--

Diane Warren from Newbury was very disappointing

and I waited several years ago, after a Jon Anderson solo show, only to get a big squiggly circle (though I see he has signed differently over the years).

Had planned on James Arthur's recent CD, until I saw the scribbly "J", so passed.

Jagged Cactus....Hit the nail on the Head !  Was at the Soundgarden show 2 days before the last show !
