Greetings. I was hoping to get some feedback from fellow Doors fans on two items I recently purchased. This was the first major purchase for my collection. Sadly, I think I was scammed.

Good one!

Good one -- suggest that name to the FBI -- they'll love it!

I filed a complaint with the state AG's office. I reached out to Dalshire about returning the items and he simply said they are authentic. Wow. I will keep everyone posted as this evolves.

Nicely done. Thank you for keeping us updated. That’s a disgraceful response from Dalshire, but not a surprising one. The forger copied the signature on the back of the business card right down to the underline.

Thank you for posting these!

David,

GFA and its owners Stephen Rocchi and Jackie Gomez were sued in January 2020 by collectors who bought over $70,000 in mostly rock memorabilia certified by GFA from Antiquities of San Francisco.

Their music purchases were reviewed by Roger Epperson of REAL, who determined that none were genuine.

GFA and Rocchi settled for what appears to be about $100,000, but apparently only paid them about $35,000, so the plaintiffs took them back to court a few months ago.

The lawsuit and all the court filings are online and viewable by anyone. Go to this page at California Superior Court San Francisco and enter the case number: CGC20582574

I am very happy this was posted by Steve.

I have zero knowledge of music autographs, but I can state for a fact that since the inception of Guaranteed Forensic Authenticators and Stephen Rocchi in Sept. 2011, I have yet to observe one authentic autograph of Mickey Mantle, Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Sandy Koufax, Willie Mays, etc., with a COA from GFA.  Not one!!!

It may not surprise you, Chris, that there are no known intact, Beatles band-signed guitars, AC/DC band-signed guitars with Bon Scott, Led Zeppelin band-signed guitars with John Bonham, or Jimi Hendrix signed guitars.

Thank you, Steve.  Great info!!!

After reading the lawsuit, it looks like two collectors from Canada bought over 70 grand worth of fake autographed material from Antiquities (who have since gone bankrupt accoring to the suit). Why they would spend so much money while relying only on the GFA certs is another question (and not checking with anyone else -- auction houses, other collectors, other third party authenticators, etc).  Shows you the importance of sites like AML -- to keep people from buying fakes.
