I have my doubts but wanted your opinions on this. I am leaning towards a type of forgery. I know she used secretarial ttm at times but sometimes was authentic with letters/documents ttm. I think with letters/documents you can figure it out, but these stand alone signatures I have a hard time determining if they could be authentic or just a good (or even bad) forgery. Thanks for any thoughts and opinions.

Hmm. No returns. I wonder who issued the certificate.

One wonders why this is not certified/slabbed. I should think it would be well worth the investment as a seller?

I looked at their other listings and they have a bunch of different things. It could very well be they picked up a lot at an estate sale or something…or much (or all) is fake and they are trying to make it look like an estate find.

I agree totally. Whenever I see an autographed item, then look at the seller's other items which may be sports memorabilia or a hodge-podge of items, I back off immediately. And when you press the seller to produce a COA and they don't, either (a) they don't want to the expense, or (b) they are fearful it's a forgery.

Interestingly this sold for over $300. I am guessing someone thought it was authentic. Usually questionable signatures bring under $50 at most so this was either a good forgery or authentic. I know nothing about who issued the COA but perhaps it was someone reputable so that’s why it went for good money. I wish I knew more about authenticating Helen Keller signatures.

The COA was from Alexander Collectibles.

I am not familiar with them. Are they reputable?

Glad you didn't buy it! That's definitely not real IMO. Helen Keller's writing and signatures were quite consistent and that one is missing many of her characteristics.

The indiviudal letters are not those of someone with sight probs
