I guess it is vaguely possible that the original purchaser is no longer with us and his or her estate is being sold off by a non-specialist seller but the wording of the seller's reply sounds a little too professional for that. Nobody in their right mind would sell something like this cheaply, especially if they know that it could be worth a lot if certified. All that said, it takes all sorts to make a world.....

It will be very interesting when you get the item to give it a close inspection. Your pic and the one supplied by Ballroom are very close and look to be the same signature. The longer I look at both I think I see several minor placement variances but even those change from view to view. Having said that I would assume the seller knows these aren’t genuine as the price would be well over $5k based on the listed examples. If it is live ink then I would say an in person examination by a trusted expert would be in order.
Frank would be the obvious choice as he authenticated the one Ballroom posted.

This reminds me of the set of autographs I have from the early 60’s with John, Paul and Pete . I found 4 items with exactly the same signatures. Mine has live ink and I’m assuming the others do as well. Sending an image of any of these would likely result in a positive response even though 3 of them must be forgeries.

Ben, I hate being negative but I don’t like the John signed Lp cover. If I’m wrong I’m sure one of the many great people on this forum will correct me.
