A significantly tape damaged set just sold for £2295 inc buyer's premium. Assuming they are genuine what do you think of this price? Would you ever want to own something like this or would you rule it out due to condition? Was wondering what people thought about this. Cheers

That’s good the tape is gone so no further damage will occur in that manner. Looks like a nice set of Beatles signatures too.

I have this 1963 Lennon item that has tape damage. To me, the stains are part of the story behind each signature. For example, this is a food menu signed on the back.

Would had been more interesting if the entire menu was kept intact without cutting the signature out of it. I bet it was originally personalized to someone.

I think any remaining tape could be removed without affecting the ink, which is still pretty bold. I think the bigger issue as far as value in concerned is that the set has been trimmed. Ink has been trimmed off of all four signatures.

I like the set for the money. It was a good deal. Anything under US $5,000 would be reasonable.

I like it as well for the money, - it has a quirkiness about it which I  like

Plus you pretty much know it’s authentic. It would be difficult to reproduce that kind of tape damage to a forgery (unless it was an old fake that someone taped up decades ago). But they look right to me so it’s definitely a great deal at under $5000 for sure.
