This group of eight photographic postcards were sold at auction in Monaco today. At first glance the listing appeared too good to be true, but having spent some time looking at the handwriting, I believe they have a good chance of being genuine. What do you guys think?

Well, it’s hard to tell at first glance. They are definitely their signatures; some aspects looked very familiar—resembling the signatures on the Grapefruit edition—so I compared them with the files I have, since my initial impression was that they were pre-printed. However, none of the signatures matched perfectly enough to be classified as printed. I’d love to know the story behind the postcards; since I’m not a member of the auction house, I couldn't read the description. Perhaps that backstory would help us better understand the context.

I’ve seen another very similar signed example of this card, with John’s signature in red ink and Yoko’s in blue ink. It has LOAs from Tracks and PSA/DNA.

Here it is:

In terms of the handwriting, it all looks spot on. Here is the auction link https://www.interencheres.com/en-US/art-decoration/collection-yanou... Sold for 23,000 euros

The auction link doesn't seem to work anymore but that was certainly a strange lot. It would be very interesting to know what the backstory was. On the face of it, EUR 22,000 would be a very reasonable price even if before buyer's premium etc., but I wouldn't particularly want eight examples of virtually the same thing. A dealer would perhaps but he for she would also have to market them very carefully.

Thank you all for your replies. The auction featured the collection of Yanou Collart, the prominent French publicist who was known for working with Paul McCartney. The sale also featured albums inscribed to her by John & Yoko, and Paul & Linda:
