This appears to be a textbook example of a forgery penned by Greg Marino.
Ouch. It belongs to a friend who wanted me to sell it for her. Guess I'll be giving it back!
That's too bad. She should contact the Smithsonian store to try to get a refund. If she has a COA, receipt or other documentation, I think she's got a good chance of getting it.
That's an awful forgery.
Yep, Harry, same Mantle.
I did have it on eBay earlier, but I didn't know it had been posted here. I had someone ask me to get a "QuickOpinion" from PSA. Within five minutes of submitting the form on PSA's website, I got an email from eBay saying that they had ended the listing early due to a "Trademark Violation". I called PSA to ask if they needed me to email pics, since the listing wasn't up anymore and they said that their service was available to buyers not sellers. HUH? Anyway, I came here because I certainly don't want to accidentally pass along something that isn't authentic!
