I picked up this album today. It's on Prince's second album, from 1979. Inscribed to a name I can't make out. Yes, I realize it's in bad condition...lol.

This is my first post here, so be gentle.

I would like authenticity opinions.....any help would be appreciated.

Hi Sydney,

I too am searching for a Prince auto, so if you should happen to want to sell it pleases let me know. Typically its bad news when it comes to most items i look at that are supposed to be signed by Prince. And im sure you know this if you have been after him for a while. They dont come up often at a decent price.

But saying this, i think you might have a gem here. It certainly isnt the garden variety fake, and i see alot of good characteristics in it. i believe that it just might be authentic.

If you dont get any other opinions on it, or if you want to be completely sure, id ask Roger Epperson. You can google his name and go to his personal site and pay for a quick opinion. Its 15 bucks and well worth it. He is the best in the world at music items and he will be able to tell you for certain.

The P is kind of unusual to what i typically see. The formation is different, but the rest of the signature matches up very well.

But my opinion, is that at first glance its probably good.

Hey Carl!

Thanks for giving your opinion/thoughts on my post!

I am thinking it's authentic as well. I have been collecting and researching autographs since the early 1990s, and comparing it to early known examples, it looks pretty much spot on.

I do plan on doing as you suggest and contacting Mr. Epperson for his opinion. $15 is a small price to pay for an expert opinion.

In closing...I am always open to offers on my autographs, so if you care to make one......:)

Syd
