Hello everyone,

While looking around on ebay, i noticed this item. Its a signed 8 by 10 of Eminem, that has been authenticated by PSA/DNA, and bears their sticker. The only problem is, that it appears the seller is actually selling reprints of this item, and from the appearance of the auction, it looks like the seller might actually be selling reprints of the 8 by 10 INCLUDING the PSA sticker!!.

Now i could be wrong, but from the way the auction appears, it seems that this auction is for a preprint of a psa/dna certed eminem, and that the sticker copy is included in the preprint. This is definetly the first time i have seen this, if indeed, i am correct in my assertion.

I dare to think just how many brand new collectors will buy these type of preprints if they see that it has the appearance of a PSA sticker on it. Im sure PSA would have something to say about it, but i imagine if this starts trending, that the sellers will probably be of the fly by the night kind. I hope im wrong here, b/c this will fool a ton of new collectors if people begin selling preprints of psa or jsa certed items that include the copied sticker. Even though we all know that the sticker (to be valid) juts out from the actual photo or piece (obviously showing its a real sticker), i worry that if these items get popular, that new collectors wont due the research and will think nothing of the fact that the authentication sticker is obviously copied.

Any thoughts? Has anyone seen this type of thing elsewhere?

Above is the exact picture in the auction. The only description for this is:

"

This is a photocopy of an autographed slim shady eminem photo. It is a REPRINT. Cheapest you'll find on Ebay, however."

When I checked his auction page for the Woods reprint he had over 20 for sale and had already sold more than ten at around $10 a pop.

I do not understand the market for reprints / copies / fakes?
Why would anyone want a photocopy? I don't get it.

I'm my opinion I would rather an in person forgery then a photocopy.

A further point I think is funny is the guys that sell reprints with a Coa. Take it a step further and some even do limited editions with a Coa. My poor dad actually brought me a Jordan one for Xmas. He thought he got a bargain paying $100 for an MJ signed piece in a frame limited to 100. Little did he know it was 100 reprints! LOL

whoever said that is incorrect

Not allowed

You're not allowed to use the following if you're not authorized to do so by the owner, its agent, or the law:

  • Photos and text from other eBay users

  • Photos and text copied from websites

  • Scans from catalogs or advertisements

very true, not only are you getting a reprint on ebay, you are getting a reprint of a forged photo. the only thing that could be worse is if they stole your lunch money too.

theres a reason for this bird brain

And what would that reason by JPC? To prove the reprint is legit? I think you should talk to the PSA guys if thats the case, b/c their is a huge legal issue from that standpoint alone. And anyone purchasing a reprint is probably assuming its legit to begin with. And why even bother if its legit or not? Its a preprint, worth absolutely nothing.

Just a tip: i would take things down a notch, stop with the name calling, the members here dont react well to that kind of thing.

Hey is PSA says its real it's real......Lets remember their backed up by E-Bay so no one can rat to E-Bay especially if its Certified by PSA
What???????? OMG.
Don't know what to say to that hahaahahah
The reprint must be a real reprint? I'm lost

Ebay even has a catagory for reprint autographs

If only there was a way eBay could limit the reprints to stay in that category only. For example if we search for an real autograph reprints don't flood our screens. Would be good if reprints only come up when you were in the reprint category or search for reprint which would be never :)

All of ebay's categories are complete disasters, filled with the wrong things. There's no enforcement, and needless to say, reporting anything for any reason never produces a result.
