Looks like Bing Crosby.

Thanks, Mike!

The closest match I have found is here:

Would be nice!

No problem.  Do you happen to know if Joan got this autograph in person?  The "C" looks a little atypical to me.

No idea if she got this in person.

She worked at the box office, but I can't find any record of \Bing being there in 1948.

But the atypical "C" matched the one in the link from 1940.

This is only one of a few in her autograph book.

During her estate auction there was mention of her huge celebrity photo collection (some with her in them) with stars. She became a reporter later in life.

Sounds like a really nice autograph book.  Congratulations.

Nice catch.  I missed the date in the additional image of the link.  I was looking at exemplars from later years.  It does not appear to be secretarial.  Let's see if anyone else contributes.

Youtube has a video of Bing at the premiere of "The Emperor Waltz" (1948).

The announcer states that Bing is "just back from sightseeing on the East Coast".

Perhaps Joan got her 1948 autograph then. Just guessing, of course.

That is part of the fun of collecting autographs.  Investigating when and where they may have been signed.  Enjoy!

Yes, it opens up a whole other world doesn't it.

I feel after my lucky experience finding this autograph album, I may be hooked on collecting!

I am quite the newbie, but it is exciting!

Thanks for all the feedback, Mike!
