Thanks Paul!! I deeply attached to this piece already. :)
I love it Paul. I think it´s framed in a very clever way with the photo surrounding the signature, if you get what I mean with my bad english... :-)
I'm somewhat disappointed that someone felt it necessary to write in "1959" in blue over the other written date (1954), but still glad I won this. I definitely overpaid, and I'm seriously considering making a "cut" of the signature, just so I can get it authenticated without having to pay someone to authenticate a bunch of other random names that signed the page.
I'll probably never know for sure if it's authentic (the writing looks extremely fancy for a 13-yr-old), but this would be arguably one of the earliest known examples of a tough signature missing from most Cubs collections: Ken Hubbs.
Would't they just authenticate the one signature without doing the others? I have never bothered to have anything authenticated so not sure but would think i you asked they might.
I've asked before. The answer has always been no. The strangest part is when the item is a minor league (or in this case little league) item, where it's very likely that the authenticator doesn't even look at the non-key signatures due to lack of exemplars.
