I think the "Mc" In McCartney gives the set away as a forgery but I agree -- it's not a bad attempt.

Here's the response I got from Ewbanks Auction House when I told them their Beatles items have been questioned by many members of this forum:

Subject: 0172: The Beatles Book No.1 August 1963 Signed On The Cover 

Dear Sir,  We would advise you not to bid.If you are not 100% sure do not bid.  The majority of the items come from private sources. All info we received is listed in the description. We are not a shop and many of our items sell to dealers.  As listed in our terms and conditions, any doubts do not bid.
