Don't care how great his music is, if someone did that to me I would no longer be a fan.
To be fair here, he doesn't, to my knowledge, sign autographs now so its not unexpected really and at least he wasn't rude about it. I'd just write it off as a non-success and move on.
When did Paul stop signing autographs? Did he make a grand "peace and love" announcement like Ringo that I missed?
I'm sure he made an announcement that he was no longer going to sign autographs.
Sorry to hear about McCartney.
A lot of celebrities seem to do this no autograph approach. Cosby only takes pictures with you, Ringo doesn't sign at all, etc.
I understand they don't feel comfortable with people selling their autographs, but at the end of the day it is sold to a fan. The more they sign the less their autograph is worth, so this no autograph approach makes the dealers hound them even more. Sign 1 item per person if the time allows. Especially if it is for a clear fan like you seem to be.
Ringo signed in Boston a few months ago. Basically he sells his artwork at many of the places he plays at. Its for his charity and if you buy his artwork he will sign and photo with you.
Or you could buy his drum kit for $2 million and his White album for $875,000
yes, it was there. I think that he is still signing, but he is just much more selective. It depends on where he is and what he's doing, and the item. I suspect Beatles LP's etc are the least likely item he will sign. I've been lucky enough to have seen him a number of times over many years (but he doesn't know or recognise me !), and he has signed a few items (even last year), and he has always been very polite and courteous to me and other people.
Paul's stepson attended Rollins College here and he even rented or bought a place near this college so he'd have a place to stay while visiting and there were several encounters with Paul by people here and to my knowledge he didn't sign or take pictures with anyone. The college put on a small teaching seminar with Paul for a select few who won tickets via lottery and the same scenario happened at this so it is very likely he has stopped signing. If Paul had signed it would have been news and the local graphers here would have swarmed the college area looking to get lucky. I do know as recently as two years ago he did sign one a piece for anyone lucky to wait for him at his hotel after he did a show here but that was then.
