HENRY CALVIN Sergeant Garcia of ZORRO fame

HENRY CALVIN (1918-1975) is best known as Sgt. Garcia from the Zorro television series with Guy Williams in 81 episodes from 1957-1961.  He is also known for the Disney movies Toby Tyler, or Ten Weeks with a Circus (1960) and Babes in Toyland (1961).  In 1965 he played Gregorio in Ship of Fools.  He played Rob's old army buddy in a very funny episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show.  He played Sam Pomerantz in the episode "The Sam Pomerantz Scandals."  He and Dick Van Dyke do a Laurel and Hardy sketch.   He played "Pixley Fats" in an episode of Petticoat Junction.  This a personal check of Calvin's.

I have been watching the Zorro episodes with Guy Williams, really great TV back then.

I agree I loved watching it when they aired again in the late 60s and early 1970s.  Sgt. Garcia was my favorite and was glad to get this check.  I have a Britt Lomond signed with others somewhere need to find that.  Britt Lomond was my favorite villain on Zorro he played Capitán Monastario.  Both Lomond and Garcia are scarce.  When I was a boy I had a Zorro mug it was in the shape of a boot with a Z for handle.

Henry Calvin estate items including the green parade ribbon worn by Henry Calvin in the 1959 Pacific Festival Youth Parade, and letters from George Christopher, Mayor of San Francisco and one from Mrs. Randolph Hearst (Catherine Hearst).  Also, two records that were given to Henry Calvin by Disney studio.

Hey Terrier that is great!!!  Wonder if that was among the stuff sold from his estate.  I bought the above and below.  Disney would send him samples of the merchandise.  The yellow Toby Tyler book in mint condition is exactly the same as the one I had when I was a kid so was happy to get it. The one still is Calvin and Dick Van Dyke doing a Laurel and Hardy sketch on The Dick Van Dyke Show.  Do you have Britt Lomond?
