You know you've got a distributor legit shook when they have to get a division director to hand sign an LOA after the previous fiasco - and we still have no guarantee if these are real until copies start flowing out.

Imagine if these actually are still autopens.. they think they only have to deal with 99 people.. but ill make sure this gets posted on every Dylan group possible.. I wont rest on this. For the distributor to actually try this a 2nd time would show just how stupid they think consumers are. A huge slap in the face to every Dylan fan out there X2... ive already rolled up my sleeves and expecting the worst.. I pray it won't come to this but im ready for a fight. If anything, just for the sake of autopen usage in general for the future

Sounds like the "greater fool" theory at work -- keep sending it around to different distributors until someone bites and is able to offload the stock.

(And I want to know why it's only "99" copies -- are they not counting the one that accidentally slipped out into the wild?)

Some private record companies in the 60's and 70's  made only 99 copies of records  to avoid paying tax, i know there is no VAT on books but maybe some sort of Link  ?

Maybe these e mails with the MD may make somebody at Simon & Schuster or Coles actually look at them before they are shipped to see if they are legit or Autopenned and saving a lot of hassle ??

They could well be legit, but on the other hand they could be Indigo's Autopenned cast offs  and just testing the water with 100 or 99 initially here in the UK .... see what happens and if they don't have many returned, maybe they will try and palm some off with other book stores in the UK and Worldwide - but like i say they could be legit, so maybe keep an open mind until they arrive with some of you in the UK in the next few days ?

99 for the UK. Oldest trick in the book. And 99 for France, 99 for Germany etc...

Lol, I was wondering same about the 99 copies and never thought about that 1 that got out…nice. Surely not…

I missed this one. Mixed emotions when I discovered it. I already spent the money I got back from indigo lol, so for financial reasons, I couldn’t/shouldn’t have done it.

Then there’s the issue of the Indigo fiasco itself, which still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Even though it was refunded, I feel like someone should have to answer for what happened there, particularly when it appears they may be trying it again. Otherwise, this starts to feel like a high-stakes shell game.

I see both sides though. Agree that all the emails may not make a difference, that she may not be the one to answer for the Indigo situation, and that it could be moot point until we see what they have.

But still- while there was 1 copy out for the indigo fiasco, everyone who emailed on that was doing so preemptively, not having received theirs yet. And it appeared to have made a difference, preventing further hassle for all.

Or just as likely it’s 100 with 1 going to the publisher or an archive somewhere.

I guess INDIGO Canada done shipped all them returned/cancelled autopen rejects off to the UK...enjoy!!! lmfao

Thans so much itf.. good or bad, its nice to be back in the game with another shot at this

Can’t afford it either way but hope it works out for you guys. Anyone checked if the ISBN is same as the indigo one?

ISBN is of a regular book.. an sku search pulls up a signed copy from Brunswick in Australia but the page is gone when you click on it
