Hi,

I received these two index cards signed by Joe DiMaggio TTM on two separate occasions in the '70s when I was a teenager collecting autographs. One of the sigs I cut and glued to another index card. Yeah, unfortunately I used to do that when I was a kid. Who knows why.

Do you think they are real? I've seen variations of his signatures over the years.

Thank you,

Mike

If they are real, I am guessing top is 50's signature vintage, and later is his 80's card show graph. I'll learn towards legit, but I'm not a sports graph guy.

Thanks for your input. I got them both TTM directly from DiMaggio in the '70s, from what I remember.

His sister used to do fan mail for him. I'm not sure the particular years but I did own one of her Joe signed items. The signature she gave was obviously more womanly and does look different than the ones posted. I've owned about 5 authentic Joe items but sold them all and I personally will never be very good at telling real from fake unless I heard the specific story of why one was fake in the first place.

I didn't think he did much inscription wise. Almost wonder if top isn't sister, and bottom legit.

Interesting. The top does look more like a woman's handwriting. Plus the "D" and the "M" in DiMaggio are different. Thanks for the input.

I didn't know that about the sister. Thank you.

Odd things there's one on Ebay right now that looks just like the top one and it has an SGC COA. Go figure.

He would sign best wishes if personalizing but I'm not sure how often he personalized. The first one, the name moreso does look a little iffy. Definitely looks different from the second which looks more fluid and not a forgery and I don't think that's his sister's writing. I had a signed photo from a guy who did sports banquets and Joe signed Best Wishes to him and I really wish I had it now to compare.

I always wondered if Dom DiMaggio may have signed mail for Joe as well since they had similar handwriting.

the second one is good.  the first one was signed by his sister, you can tell by the ending.

The second one looks good.  That is how he signed my home plate.
