***URGENT UPDATE
Previous update
Some users have uncovered potential autopen use within Bob Dylan's expensive art prints. Please check your prints if you own one and post a picture on this thread if you have any concerns.

*UPDATE - Let this be a warning to ALL publishers and celebrities in the future. We are sick and tired of these autopen releases. Our community has had enough and absolutely will not stand for this practice to continue any longer!!!
I want to point out that Coles Books needs to be commended. They made sure to look out for their customers and refused to ship these out if they came from the same S&S stock, which they did. It was also an easy process to cancel orders beforehand if you wished. Coles. on behalf of everyone, I want to thank you for having integrity and watching out for all of us.
I can NOT say the same about Premiere Collectibles. They refused to honor cancelation requests until it was known these books were in fact autopenned. They advertise themselves claiming they are collectors themselves. This is not true. They are a retailer first and only care about your money. There have been other autopen incidents where they absolutely refused to accept blame, stating items were real when they were clearly deemed autopen by the community. Be careful with future purchases with Premiere Collectibles.
This email came directly from Jonathan Karp at Simon and Schuster. If anyone still wishes to send him a message, here is his email address as well.

We apologize for the mistake that was made and are offering a full refund of your purchase. Please keep your copy of The Philosophy of Modern Song at no cost. We hope you will enjoy reading it.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Karp

ORIGINAL POST
I am creating this thread as a comprehensive all in 1 link for returns, refunds, chargebacks and claims made regarding the "signed" edition of Bob Dylan - The Philosophy Of Modern Song. Please use this link to email Simon & Schuster, Coles, and Premiere Collectables as 100% proof these were signed using an autopen machine.
I would like to say right off the bat, Coles Books in the UK is handling this professionally and seem to care deeply about their customer base. They have stated that, once they are in hand, If they find evidence of them being autopenned, they will cancel all orders.. Kudos to Coles.. I wish all retailers would follow their lead. If you wish to cancel your order with them immediately instead of waiting, It seems to be an easy process.
This post will be continuously updated with new information over the next few days
Please refer to this article for the time being until more information is added

Here is the post I created a few weeks ago with info regarding the Indigo incident.

So far, there have been a total of 17 confirmed different templates for the autopen machine used for Bob Dylans signature. I am in the process of creating video comparisons for all 17 sets. Please post full page photos of your item as they are delivered to aid in this process
Here are all 17 templates used by Bob Dylan - I am still looking for full page photos for numbers 8,13 and 15 thru 17 but its still best to post whatever you receive
Be aware when checking against your own copy, it has come to light that they are possibly using 1st and last names interchangeably. Bob in #2 matches perfectly with Bob in #13 while Dylan in both are different
14th variation confirmed
15th variation
16th variation - Seems to be almost an exact combination of #11 and #13 with a different vertical line in his "D"
17th variation
Video and photo comparisons created so far

Dolly Parton is also guilty of using multiple autopens in the same fashion with multiple templates over the years but with a slight twist where they manipulate the page as the autopen machine writes her signature. If we are looking to stop all future attempts at autopen usage, she needs to be held accountable just as much as Bob Dylan and S&S. Link to threads below
Here is a great example provided by Eric Keith Longo

InkInvestor,
I'm sorry you were discouraged. The important thing is to get the information out like you did, and make it available for those who need it when they realize they need it. Thank you for doing that.
I appreciated your posts and thought it was worth looking into some being secretarial also.
I find it ridiculousl Dylan saying he is done with signing after all of this when he was outed for not signing any of these books and prints !
Have he states so?
no, just a possibility.. it would explain a lot
I really, really, still feel for everybody scammed by Bob Dylan & his gang of fraudsters.
And what a shi**ty way to "rectify" the Philosophy book and Art print fraud...
Personally, I don't think a simple refund "rectifies" the situation at all...
Both book Fans and Art print Investors were promised a "hand signed signature/autograph"...
they're still not getting that - just their money returned, maybe a free book, maybe a free print.
And a lot of time wasted and the headache of phoning, writing, contacting book venues, art galleries etc... what a headache!
I'm sure too, that the $5,000 to $25,000 prints were not framed by collectors using Walmart or Michael's frames!
Many in the Art world probably have spent big $ to have their "signed" Dylan prints professionally framed.
So they're kinda out that money...imagine an expen$ive frame worth more than the print it encompasses!!!
It really bothers me that Dylan himself will walk from this unscathed - besides his reputation.
He'll lose half a million on the books and a couple of million on the Art Prints, but when you're worth $half a BILLION (yes with a b), it's a slap on the wrist.
He doesn't really regret this, he's really not sorry - HE'S ONLY SORRY HE GOT CAUGHT!
If one of us regular folk tried to pull this massive fraud and scam...we'd go to jail, go directly to jail !!!
Wouldn't it be great if a billionaire has bought several fake prints, finds out about it and takes Dylan to the Cleaners!
As you say he is getting off scot free! If somebody had done this in the UK you would get 15-20 years in prison.
I think this is just the start of it for Dylan, I won't be surprised if more fraud is uncovered later on that all his crossed Y Signatures are fake / secretarial aswell as his straight Y sigs going back 5-10 years or more !
This has totally put me off buying his signature ever as he can't be trusted.
That's exactly the reason he should be sitting at home pumping out hundreds of authentic autographs a day, on video as we speak. His signature will be completely worthless if no one is able to verify it
No. It wouldn’t be great. It would be great if they would just prove the sigs are real. That’s all. Why wish more harm on people? Yuck
Agreed. I don't think it's right he ripped people off, but I don't necessarily think he should go to prison. I do think he should do something to make it up to the people he ripped off, like Jason said sign his name on video to prove the previously signed prints were really in his hand, and send out those signatures to the people who bought the fake books and prints. That would even things up in my mind. Refunds aren't enough. That just gets you back to where you were if you didn't buy. Doing something to make up for the hassle and heartbreak would make me call it even.
It would be nice if he could do that on his own free will, and it not take legal actions to provide some compensation to the people who were scammed.
Yes I agree he should make this up to everybody that bought any of the books from anywhere, and obviously the prints too, this is what I and many others touted on here and were hoping for originally, but as the statement and subsequent actions have pointed to refunds only and to keep worthless books / prints - which we all originally paid a lot of money for.
Refunds only is just not good enough and if he doesn't rectify this to a happy conclusion for all - then he most certainly does deserve to be prosecuted.
If Mr Dylan did phone Castle yesterday, then maybe he is actually felling bad over this whole affair and may put it right, but i'm not holding my breath just yet!
